Ganap nang isang Tropical Storm ang Low Pressure Area na binabantayan sa labas ng Philippine Area of Responsibility. Ito ay binigyan ng international name na “HAGUPIT”.

Taglay nito ang lakas ng hangin na umaabot sa 65km/h at pagbugso na tinatayang nasa 80km/h habang nasa karagatan sa timog ng Guam at kumikilos 20km/h pakanluran.

Ito ay inaasahang papasok sa loob ng PAR late Friday o early Saturday kung mapapanatili ang bilis nito, at ito ay bibigyan ng local name na .

Inaasahan din na matutunaw at hihina ito bago pa man makarating sa kalupaan dahil sa mataas na Shear Line o ang pagkakaiba ng hangin sa karagatan na maaaring makasira ng sirkulasyon ng bagyo.

Gayunpaman, inaasahan pa rin na maramdaman ang epekto nito sa Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region, Silangan ng Cagayan Valley, Aurora at Quezon by early next week.

Manatiling nakatutok sa lagay ng panahon at nakahanda sa anumang maaaring maging epekto ng Tropical Storm "Hagupit".

Members of the Cabanatuan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council from selected member-agencies in the frontline services completed the two-day 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑨𝒊𝒅 - 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 (𝑺𝑭𝑨-𝑻𝑶𝑻) last March 31-April 1, 2026 held at Cabanatuan East Central School, City of Cabanatuan.

Through the initiative of its chairperson, Mayor Myca Vergara, and in partnership with the Department of Health Region III - Health Emergency Management Division, the Cabanatuan CDRRMC successfully established a pool of trainers for Standard First Aid which will contribute to achieving the city’s goal of reaching out and further capacitating the community.

Participants from the said training were also the same batch who have undergone Basic Life Support - Training of Trainers last April 2024. Thus, enabling the council to cascade a DOH-accredited training for BLS and SFA.

𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐃 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐆 | 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Through the directives of its chairperson, Mayor Myca Vergara, the Cabanatuan City DRRM Council activated its Incident Management Team (IMT) and conducted an Operational Period Briefing on April 2, 2026 - 6:00 AM in front of Security Bank, Brgy. Sangitan East, City of Cabanatuan.

The activity was attended by personnel from Cabanatuan City PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, City Information and Communications Technology Office, Office of the City Engineer, General Services Office, Community Affairs Office - Traffic Management Division, Manuel V. Gallego Cabanatuan City General Hospital, City Health Office; Pagas Recue Team, Barangay DRRM Committees, partner agencies including Philippine Red Cross Nueva Ecija Chapter, Cabanatuan Electric Corporation, and Cabanatuan City Water District – Prime Water, SM City Cabanatuan; and groups of force multipliers.

Relative hereto, prior to the IMT's activation, the Cabanatuan City Emergency Operations Center Alert Status was raised from 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐄 (𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥) 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐄 (𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝) through CDRRMC Memorandum No. 002, s. 2026 starting March 31 to April 7, 2026 in accordance with the DILG and NDRRMC Memorandums.

In coordination with various agencies, personnel and volunteers were deployed in strategic areas in the city to ensure the safety of residents and motorists this Lenten Season.
