Emphasizing the importance of civil registration and the value of building a strong family, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) โ Quirino Provincial Office through Officer-in-Charge Karen T. Fernandez served as Guest Speaker during the Kasalang Bayan 2026 organized by the Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) of Maddela on 08 October 2026 held at the LDRRMO Function Hall, Poblacion Norte, Maddela, Quirino.
The event led by Municipal Civil Registrar Nelia L. Culian brought together twenty-one (21) couples who exchanged vows in marriage, solemnized by Municipal Mayor Rimel C. Tolentino marking a meaningful milestone in their lives as they embarked on their journey as husband and wife.
In her inspirational message, OIC Fernandez underscored the significance of civil registration in providing legal recognition to vital life events and safeguarding the rights and identities of individuals and families. She also shared practical advice with the newlyweds on nurturing a strong and lasting marital relationship, founded on love, respect, understanding, trust and shared responsibility in building a family.
Furthermore, she introduced the various services offered by the PSA.
The activity also formed part of the initiatives of LCRO Maddela in support of the 37th National Statistics Month (NSM) celebrated every October to promote awareness of the importance of statistics in understanding social and economic developments and supporting informed decision-making.
As the 21 couples begin this new chapter of their lives, the occasion celebrates not only their commitment to one another but also the importance of securing their union through proper civil registration.
