MULTISECTORAL TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY IN CELEBRATION OF THE 2024 ENVIRONMENT MONTH AND PHILIPPINE ARBOR DAY

Theme: “OUR ENVIRONMENT, OUR FUTURE”

Ang buwan ng Hunyo ay ipinagdiriwang natin bilang ENVIRONMENT MONTH sa buong Pilipinas. Alinsunod ito sa Proklamasyon Blg 237 series of 1988 ng dating Pangulo Corazon C. Aquino. Ang temang “Our Environment, Our Future” ay hinalaw mula sa international theme ng World Environment Day – “Our Land. Our Future. We are .”

Bilang pagdiriwang ng Environment Month ay nagdaos ng tree planting activity ang Lungsod ng Cabuyao noong ika-21 ng Hunyo 2024 sa Barangay Carmen, Silang, Cavite. Ito ay sa pakikipagtulungan ng Laguna AAA Water Corporation at Laguna Lake Development Authority at pakikipag-ugnayan sa PG-ENRO Cavite, MENRO Silang at Barangay Carmen. Nilahukan ito ng iba’t ibang sector na kasapi ng Cabuyao River Protection Advocates (CaRPA).

Ito ay nagpapaalala sa atin ng kahalagahan at ng koneksiyon o kaugnayan sa pagitan ng kalusugan ng ating planeta at kapakanan ng susunod na henerasyon. Ito ay isang panawagan sa atin upang sama-samang kumilos at gawin ang ating responsibilidad para sa ating Inang Kalikasan. Anumang simpleng gawain tulad ng pagtatanim ng puno, pagbabawas sa paggamit ng plastic, pagdadala ng sariling sisidlan sa pamamalengke, wastong pamamahala ng basura, pagtitipid sa ating mga resources tulad ng tubig, at pagsuporta sa mga makakalikasang gawain o green initiatives, lahat ng ito ay mahalaga, lahat ito ay makapag-aambag sa kagalingan at kapakanan ng ating kalikasan.

Ang Tanggapan ng CENRO ay inimbitahan ng ICCP Group Foundation, Inc. na siyang social arm ng Science park of the Philippines, Inc. (developer of LISP 1) upang maging tagapagsalita sa isang pagsasanay para sa komunidad na kanilang kinabibilangan - ang Barangay Diezmo. Dito ay tinalakay ng CENRO ang Ecological Solid Waste Management at ang mga hamon na kinahaharap ng komunidad bunga ng pagdami ng tao at basura. Binigyang-diin din sa pagsasanay ang responsibilidad ng bawat isa lalo ng mga nanunungkulan sa barangay sa pangangalaga ng ating kalikasan at kapaligiran.

Naniniwala ang tanggapan na ang ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ay responsibilidad ng bawat isa. Inaasahan din na ang mga natutunan ng mga kalahok sa pagsasanay at talakayang ito ay kanilang maibabahagi sa iba at maisasabuhay.
