Gabay-Aral Chairperson Completes First Regional iLACE Cohort for Mindanao
A milestone in leadership and civic engagement.
Gabay-Aral Chairperson Markim Cagumbay has successfully completed the first regional Mindanao cohort of the +iMPACT Leadership Academy for Civic Empowerment (iLACE), culminating in the Regional Leadership Lab held on October 3β4, 2026 at The Pinnacle Hotel and Suites in Davao City.
The completion marks not only the end of a leadership program, but the beginning of a greater responsibility to turn learning into meaningful action within communities.
Throughout the iLACE journey, participants explored power structures and civic systems, leadership branding and public presence, public narrative, civic organizing, advocacy communication, power literacy, coalition-building, network strengthening, and personal leadership development. These lessons further strengthened the commitment to lead with purpose, build collaborative communities, and create spaces where young people can actively contribute to social change.
The certificate and iLACE medal captured in this photo serve as symbols of this journey, a recognition of the commitment to learn, engage, and lead, and a reminder that leadership is measured not only by what we achieve, but by the communities we empower along the way.
As Chairperson of Gabay-Aral, this milestone brings a renewed commitment to Equip, Empower, and Transform learners and young people through education, leadership, and civic engagement.
