In today’s crisis that we are facing, it's not just the increase in gasoline prices that's affected, but also the prices of goods. In order to help MSMEs, DTI Romblon successfully conducted the seminar entitled, “Digital Biz: Financing Made Easy” on April 14, 2026 at Barangay Poblacion Session Hall, Poblacion, Cajidiocan, Romblon with participation of 15 MSMEs.

Mr. Lance Acedera, P3 Junior Coordinator Romblon of Small Business Corporation, was the Resource Person for the activity. He discussed all about the MSME Business Fund, how MSMEs will benefit from it, and introduced the Small Business Corporation Loan Program-that will give aid to MSMEs who are interested in continuing and propagating their businesses.

This activity aimed to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to financing options to enhance their competitiveness and resilience.

This creation is made from pandan and coconut, which is why I named it the “Pan de Coco Outfit.” I used materials from different parts of the coconut tree, as every part of this tree is truly remarkable.

I combined these with pandan materials, which represent my hometown, Corcuera. Through this design, I aim to make the wearer feel confident and graceful.

Niyog, an emblem of life and stability, depicts the "Pangabuhi" of every coconut farmer of Odiongan. From the cultivated lands of Odiongan, "Nyog" grows from every corner; it offers everything from roots to the tip of its leaves.

The place itself represents elements that can be found in Odiongan: Carabao, that represents stability and diligence, the "Farmers" that represents the hands that cultivates and the "Coconut Tree" that represents the life and growth of the land. At the back, the "Mountains" represents the "Kabundukan" of Odiongan where life to sprouts and bears fruit and food that nurtures every Odionganon. And the "Tribal Ptterns" honoring the ancestors who started it all-their masipag, matatag, and matibay spirit lives on in every aspect.

“SNEDtacular Coconut Couture” is a sustainable fashion piece that transforms coconut materials and a repurposed dress into a symbol of resilience, creativity, and innovation. Designed by a person with disability, it highlights inclusion and proves that true talent knows no limitations.

This costume is a powerful tribute to nature’s abundance, skillfully crafted from raw, organic materials and transformed into a stunning work of art. It reflects the harmony between tradition and creativity, where every element carries both purpose and meaning.

At its core, walis tingting forms the structure—symbolizing strength, unity, and the simplicity of rural life. Layers of coconut husk and its outer fibers add rich texture and depth, representing resilience and the ability to find beauty even in the most rugged forms of nature. These elements echo the resourcefulness of communities that make use of every part of what the land provides.

Dried coconut leaves and dried buri leaves are intricately woven into the design, creating flowing patterns that mimic the movement of wind through trees. They bring a sense of lightness and natural elegance, grounding the costume in tradition while showcasing the artistry of handcrafting.

Wood beads are carefully placed as accents, embodying a deep connection to the earth, while crystal beads provide a striking contrast—catching the light and adding a touch of brilliance and modern sophistication. Completing the piece are flower-colored linen rolls, softly arranged like blossoms in bloom, symbolizing growth, beauty, and femininity.

Altogether, this costume is more than just an ensemble—it is a story of culture, sustainability, and imagination. It celebrates the transformation of simple, natural materials into something extraordinary, honoring both heritage and the enduring beauty of nature.

Woven from the spirit of nature and the artistry of skilled hands, this costume tells a story of heritage, sustainability, and timeless beauty. Each element is carefully chosen, transforming humble, natural materials into a striking expression of culture and creativity.

The dried coconut leaves form the foundation, symbolizing resilience and life in tropical lands, while the coconut husk adds texture and depth—an homage to the abundance of the earth. Strands of walis tingting bring structure and movement, echoing the rhythm of rural life and the simplicity of everyday traditions.

Wood beads are intricately placed, representing strength and connection to nature, while pandan leaves lend a fresh, organic elegance with their natural patterns and fragrance. Accents of flower-colored linen rolls introduce a soft contrast, blooming like petals against the earthy tones, embodying grace and femininity.

Finally, crystal beads are delicately embedded, catching the light with every movement—like morning dew glistening on leaves—adding a touch of brilliance that elevates
the entire piece.

More than just a costume, this creation is a celebration of resourcefulness and cultural pride. It honors the beauty found in natural materials and transforms them into a wearable masterpiece that reflects both tradition and innovation.

This piece began not with fabric, but with the gathering of coconut sheath (coco cloth)—carefully selected, cleaned, and shaped by hand. Each piece was meticulously cut into scale-like forms and layered one by one to create texture, movement, and depth, mimicking the natural flow of leaves and earth.

The bodice was constructed with precision, while the skirt gradually grew fuller with every layer, transforming raw coco cloth into a regal silhouette. Fringes and woven details were thoughtfully added to soften the structure, blending strength with artistry.

What was once a simple coconut sheath has been transformed into a powerful expression of craftsmanship—elevated into a queen’s attire, deeply rooted in the spirit of Odiongan.
