Police officers are only required to do visual searches on motor vehicles. That means that they cannot randomly ask you to open the trunk or any part of your car or the seat compartment in your motorcycles; they can only peek from outside with the aid of flashlights. This rule is designed to prevent law enforcement officers from planting incriminating evidence in your vehicle.
IN CHECKPOINTS, DO NOT OPEN YOUR CAR EVEN WHEN ASKED.
By law, police officers are only required to do visual searches on motor vehicles. That means that they cannot randomly ask you to open the trunk or any part of your car or the seat compartment in your motorcycles; they can only peek from outside with the aid of flashlights. This rule is designed to prevent law enforcement officers from planting incriminating evidence in your vehicle. Therefore, you should not open your car when randomly flagged down for inspection.

Legal basis:
Article III, Section 2 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution
Chapter 3, Rule 2 on Checkpoints (2.2) of the Revised Philippine National Police Operational Procedures.

TO AVOID BEING LIABLE FOR FUTURE ACCIDENTS, REGISTER THE SALE OF ANY MOTOR VEHICLE YOU SOLD.
By law, the registered owner of a certain motor vehicle is principally liable for any injury or damage caused to third persons and/or their properties by the said motor vehicle. This is the so-called registered owner rule. Here, the registered owner cannot simply evade liability by claiming that the same motor vehicle has been sold to another person. To protect yourself from liability, therefore, any transfer of ownership to another must be recorded in the Land Transportation Office to make the transferee the registered owner of the same.

Walang "instant annulment"
SERBISYO PUBLIKO: ANNULMENT OF MARRIAGE. Beware of those who promise you that there is no need to appear or attend any hearing, and that your annulment will be granted 100%. There is no such thing as "instant annulment." Appearance of the Petitioner is required during the PRE-TRIAL, and his/her testimony is also required during the TRIAL PROPER.
