LIKHAng Marino 2026 Winners Share Their Stories and Business Plans on DZMM Teleradyo's TrendJing

NRCO Director Andrea Luisa Anolin, together with Nathaniel Baugbog Jr., National Winner, and Johnson Lagos, 2nd Runner-Up of the LIKHAng Marino Business Plan Competition 2026, joined DZMM Teleradyo’s TrendJing, hosted by Jing Castañeda, on October 3, 2026.

Nathaniel and Johnson shared their journey—from the business mentoring boot camp and educational tour to presenting their business plans after their repatriation as seafarers.

“’Yun po ang binigay sa amin ng DMW, ’yung karunungan kung paano magsimula ng tama at nararapat,” Johnson shared.

Through DMW-NRCO’s support, both received ₱100,000 as regional winners. Nathaniel later received ₱500,000 as National Winner, while Johnson received ₱200,000 as 2nd Runner-Up.

Nathaniel encouraged fellow OFWs to start small and build their businesses based on the needs of their communities.

Director Anolin also highlighted DMW’s reintegration programs, emphasizing that the Department continues to support OFWs and seafarers as they return home and pursue new opportunities in the Philippines.

Calamba City, Laguna – On September 30, 2026, the Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office IV-A CALABARZON (DMW 4A), as Chair of the Committee on Migration and Development (CMD) CALABARZON, led the Committee’s 2nd Semester Meeting for 2026, held virtually via Google Meet. The meeting brought together member agencies and partners to discuss key migration and development initiatives and strengthen coordination in the region.

The Committee discussed several agenda items, including the approval of the resolution on organizing Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) associations into cooperatives, updates on the proposed OFW Housing Project and the Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), and updates on the programs and services of the Global Academy on Migration and Development (GAMD).

Among the key agreements, the CMD approved the resolution on organizing OFW associations into cooperatives. The initiative aims to help OFW organizations strengthen their capacity, develop sustainable businesses, and organize as cooperatives. The meeting also provided an opportunity to share information on scholarship opportunities available to OFWs through GAMD programs.

The meeting allowed CMD member agencies and partners to align their efforts, identify action points, and strengthen collaboration in implementing migration and development initiatives and programs for OFWs, migrant workers, and their families in the region.

CALAMBA CITY, LAGUNA, 28 Setyembre 2026 — Namahagi ang Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office IV-A CALABARZON (DMW 4A) ng tulong-pinansyal sa ilalim ng AKSYON Fund Program sa mga kwalipikadong Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), mga nagbalik na OFWs, at kanilang mga pamilya sa DMW Regional Office IV-A sa Lungsod ng Calamba, Laguna.

Ang tulong ay ipinagkaloob sa mga benepisyaryong ang mga 𝗮𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗺 𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗞𝗦𝗬𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗽𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. Ang mga tumanggap ng tulong mula sa iba't ibang lalawigan ng CALABARZON ay personal na dumalo sa awarding upang matanggap ang suportang pinansyal para sa kanilang mga pangangailangan at ng kanilang mga pamilya.

Patuloy na isinusulong ng DMW 4A ang kapakanan ng mga OFW sa pamamagitan ng AKSYON Fund Program, na nagbibigay ng agarang tulong at suporta sa mga kwalipikadong benepisyaryo bilang bahagi ng mandato ng pamahalaan na pangalagaan ang kapakanan ng mga migranteng manggagawang Pilipino.

In accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 136, work in all agencies and instrumentalities of the National Government shall be suspended in observance of the 34th National Family Week and “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day. In line with this, the Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office IV-A, including its Rizal Provincial Office and Bacoor Satellite Office, will suspend its office operations beginning at 1:00 PM on September 28, 2026.

Talisay, Batangas – The Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office IV-A (DMW 4A), through its Welfare and Reintegration Services Division (WRSD), provided an insightful discussion on WRSD programs and services, as well as Financial Literacy, for members and officers of the Talisay OFW Federation on September 24, 2026, at the East Hall of the Talisay New Municipal Building.

The activity was spearheaded by the Talisay OFW Federation, led by its President, Ms. Aida Garcia, with coordination and support from the Local Government Unit of Talisay, Batangas.

DMW 4A Labor and Employment Officer III Romwell Q. Aguilar discussed the DMW’s various programs and services, including those under the Kalinga, Kaalaman Kabuhayan, and Kaagapay strands of the Department's reintegration program. Mr. Aguilar emphasized that these reintegration programs shall be embedded across all stages of migration, including pre-deployment, deployment, arrival, and return, and shall address the OFW’s economic, psychosocial, social, and cultural aspects to achieve successful and sustainable reintegration.

The Financial Literacy session likewise focused on providing knowledge and strategies for managing finances, including setting financial goals, smart spending, budgeting, borrowing and debt, saving, and investing.

The activity also provided DMW 4A with an opportunity to engage directly with OFWs and their families, allowing participants to raise concerns, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the services available to them.

Alongside the activity, Mr. Aguilar also paid a courtesy call on Talisay Municipal Mayor Nestor D. Natanauan and expressed DMW 4A’s gratitude for the invitation and continuous partnership. /rqa

Sta. Rosa City, Laguna — The Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office IV-A (DMW 4A), led by Regional Director Atty. April R. Casabuena, joined the Trabaho Patylist’s Serbisyong Pang Trabaho Job Fair, bringing overseas employment opportunities and safe migration information closer to jobseekers in the City of Santa Rosa.

The activity was initiated by Trabaho Partylist Representative Hon. Atty. Johanne Monich G. Bautista, in partnership with the City Government of Santa Rosa and other participating agencies. City Mayor Hon. Arlene B. Arcillas and City Vice Mayor Hon. Arnold B. Arcillas also graced the event and shared messages of support with the jobseekers during the opening program.

During the program, celebrity advocate Ms. Melai Cantiveros-Francisco also shared an uplifting message, encouraging jobseekers to remain hopeful and motivated as they pursue better employment opportunities.

As part of the job fair, DMW 4A monitored the participation of overseas recruitment agencies and conducted an Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) information campaign, providing jobseekers with practical reminders on how to recognize illegal recruitment schemes and check whether overseas employment opportunities are legitimate.

Through its participation, DMW 4A continues to bring safe and reliable overseas employment information closer to jobseekers across CALABARZON, helping them make informed decisions as they explore opportunities both locally and abroad.

⚓ DMW 4A JOINS OWWA'S 2026 NATIONAL SEAFARERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, CAVITE — The Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office IV-A CALABARZON (DMW 4A) joins the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Welfare Office IV-A (OWWA IV-A) in celebrating the 2026 National Seafarers’ Day today, September 25, 2026, at the General Trias Convention/Cultural Center, General Trias City, Cavite.

As part of the celebration, the DMW 4A is providing a service and helpdesk booth to assist seafarers and their families by providing information and frontline assistance on the programs and services of the Department. The participation highlights the Department’s commitment to bringing migrant worker services closer to Filipino seafarers and their families.

With the theme “Marinong Filipino: Matatag sa Alon, Matibay sa Hamon,” the event recognizes the invaluable contribution of Filipino seafarers and provides a venue for government agencies and stakeholders to promote their welfare, protection, and support. DMW 4A continues to work alongside partner agencies in ensuring accessible and responsive government services for Filipino migrant workers.
