On 09 May 2026, Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), conducted a field visit of livestock farm at Teotico Kings Ranch in Batasan, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

The activity forms part of the PSA’s continuing efforts to gather accurate and up-to-date data on livestock production and inventory. Information collected through the survey serves as an important basis for the development of agricultural programs, planning, policy formulation, and assessment of the livestock sector in the country.

The field visit emphasized the importance of producing reliable agricultural statistics that can support government agencies, local stakeholders, and the public in making informed decisions related to food security and agricultural development.

The PSA remains committed to strengthening the quality and integrity of official statistics through regular field monitoring and coordination with industry partners and local communities.

Bumisita si Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician at Civil Registrar General ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), sa lupang inilaan ng Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro (PGO) para sa planong pagpapatayo ng PSA Provincial Statistical Office sa Barangay Tayamaan, Mamburao noong Mayo 09, 2026.

Sa ngalan ni Governor Eduardo B. Gadiano, kasama sa pagbisita si Engr. Anthony A. Dantis, EnP, at mga kinatawan ng Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), na nagsagawa ng inspeksyon at nagbigay ng teknikal na gabay ukol sa kalagayan at angkop na paggamit ng nasabing lokasyon.

Layunin ng pagbisita na tiyakin ang kaangkupan ng lugar para sa mga pasilidad ng PSA na magpapahusay sa paghahatid ng serbisyo sa lalawigan.

Nagpapasalamat ang PSA sa Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro (PGO) sa kanilang pagtugon sa kahilingan na magkaroon ng sariling lupa ang opisina, na makatutulong upang makapagbigay ng mas maayos at mas mabilis na serbisyong publiko para sa mga Mindoreño.

Ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Sablayan ay pormal na nagkaloob ng lupa sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Provincial Statistical Office ng Occidental Mindoro sa pamamagitan ng isang Deed of Donation and Acceptance Ceremonial Signing sa Chalu Vista Beach Resort, Sablayan noong Mayo 09, 2026.

Dinaluhan at pinagtibay ang seremonya ng paglagda ni Mayor Walter B. Marquez ng Sablayan, PSA National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD at RSSO MIMAROPA Regional Director, Leni R. Rioflorido, na sinaksihan ni PSA Occidental Mindoro Chief Statitical Specialist, Maribel L. Bernardo, PhD.

Layunin ng donasyong ito na suportahan ang pangmatagalang plano ng PSA sa pagtatayo at pagpapaunlad ng mga pasilidad nito sa lalawigan, upang mas maging episyente ang paghahatid ng mga serbisyo at mas mapalapit ito sa publiko.

Ang naturang ugnayan ay sumasalamin sa iisang hangarin para sa mabuting pamamahala, mas pinahusay na serbisyong pampubliko, at mas matatag na pagpapaunlad ng estadistika sa Occidental Mindoro.

Lubos ang pasasalamat ng PSA sa LGU Sablayan sa kanilang taos-pusong suporta at pagkakaloob ng lupa para sa pagpapatibay ng serbisyo publiko.

On 09 May 2026, Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), conducted a supervision on the retail price survey in Temporary Public Market of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro to gather updated information on the prevailing prices of basic commodities in the local market.

The supervision aims to monitor price movements, support accurate data collection, and provide reliable information that may help consumers, businesses, and local stakeholders in making informed decisions.

Through regular price monitoring and field supervision activities, the PSA continues to promote transparency, accountability, and greater awareness of market conditions within the community.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) officially launched the Administrative Petition for Correction Automated System (APCAS) on 12 May 2026. APCAS is designed to support the operations of Local Civil Registrars (LCROs) by digitizing and streamlining the manual processing of administrative petitions for correction, from encoding to legal decision.
APCAS is part of the PSA's efforts to achieve end-to-end digitalization of the civil registration system and in line with its commitment to the broader digitalization agenda of the Philippine government.

MIMAROPA Region’s corn production reached 52,927 metric tons from January to March 2026, marking an increase of 2,649 metric tons or 5.3 percent compared to the estimated 50,278 metric tons produced in the same quarter of 2025.

The activity sought to gain deeper insights into the present conditions, concerns, and opportunities experienced by farmers in the agricultural sector. Through productive discussions with onion farmers, the importance of accurate and timely statistics was underscored in developing responsive programs and policies that will directly support and benefit local communities.

Also present during the activity were PSA RSSO MIMAROPA Regional Director, Leni R. Rioflorido; RSSO SOCD Chief Statistical Specialist, Ma. Leizl L. Magbojos, PhD; PSA Occidental Mindoro Chief Statistical Specialist, Maribel L. Bernardo, PhD; Mayor Rey C. Ladaga; Provincial Agriculturist, Engr. Alrizza Zubiri; Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Romel Calingasan; and officials from LGU San Jose.

The discussion provided a platform for fisherfolk to share their experiences, challenges, and insights, which will help strengthen statistical data and support more responsive and evidence-based fisheries policies and programs.

The visit also served as an opportunity for National Statistician Mapa to supervise the conduct of the Commercial and Municipal Fisheries Survey at the Caminawit Landing Center, highlighting PSA’s commitment to ensuring the quality and accuracy of fisheries data collection.

Also present during the activity were PSA RSSO MIMAROPA Regional Director Leni R. Rioflorido; RSSO SOCD Chief Statistical Specialist Ma. Leizl L.
