CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro โ A joint operation by the Police Regional Office MIMAROPA and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) led to the arrest of an alleged forestry law violator and the seizure of โฑ63,000.00 worth of suspected undocumented ipil lumber in Roxas, Palawan on June 15, 2026.
The operation was conducted by personnel of Roxas Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the leadership of PCPT Marvin R. Herrera, in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of Palawan Police Provincial Office, DENR-CENRO Roxas and the 2nd Palawan Provincial Mobile Force Company.
Recovered during the operation were fresh-cut ipil lumber with a total volume of 419.53 board feet and an estimated market value of โฑ63,000.00.
Authorities said the individual failed to present the necessary permits and supporting documents for the possession of the recovered forest products, prompting the filing of appropriate charges for violation of Presidential Decree No. 705, otherwise known as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.
The arrested individual and the recovered forest products were brought to Roxas MPS for proper disposition and further investigation.
Acting Regional Director PBGEN Christopher R. Dela Cruz commended the operating personnel and DENR counterparts for the successful operation, emphasizing the importance of sustained efforts to protect the regionโs natural resources.
โEnvironmental protection is everybodyโs responsibility. Through strong collaboration with our partner agencies, we will continue to enforce environmental laws and take appropriate action against activities that threaten our forests and natural resources,โ PBGEN Dela Cruz said.
The MIMAROPA Top Cop added that PRO MIMAROPA remains committed to supporting government efforts aimed at preserving the environment and promoting the responsible use of natural resources for future generations.

Dela Cruz underscored the values of leadership, accountability, and public trust as he administered the oath-taking and donning of ranks of two newly promoted Police Lieutenant Colonels during the Simultaneous Oath-Taking and Donning of Ranks Ceremony held at Hinirang Hall, Regional Headquarters Building, on June 15, 2026.
Promoted under the 2nd Quarter CY 2026 Police Lieutenant Colonel Continuous Promotion Program were PLTCOL Dhenies S. Acosta and PLTCOL Roel A. Tattao, whose advancement reflects years of dedicated service, professional competence, and commitment to the mission of the Philippine National Police.
The ceremony served not only as recognition of professional achievement but also as a reminder that higher rank carries greater responsibility to lead, inspire, and uphold the highest standards of public service.

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro โ Occidental Mindoroโs Rank No. 3 Most Wanted Person was arrested during a coordinated manhunt operation conducted in Barangay Poblacion (Lumangbayan), Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro on June 14, 2026, marking another significant accomplishment in the provinceโs intensified campaign against wanted persons.
The operation was carried out by personnel of Sablayan Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the leadership of PLTCOL Wilson B. Cuevo, Chief of Police, in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT) Occidental Mindoro, Regional Intelligence Unit 4B, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, 2nd Occidental Mindoro Provincial Mobile Force Company, 405th Maneuver Company of RMFB 4B, 104th Special Action Company of the 10th Special Action Battalion, PNP-SAF, and Occidental Mindoro MARPSTA MLET-Sablayan.
The accused, a 22-year-old resident of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 11648 in relation to Republic Act No. 7610, docketed under Criminal Case Nos. R-26-12799, R-26-12800, R-26-12801, R-26-12802, and R-26-12803, with no bail recommended.
Following his arrest, the accused was placed under the custody of Sablayan MPS pending turnover to the issuing court for appropriate legal proceedings.

The operation was conducted by personnel of Calintaan Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the leadership of PCPT Aristotle S. Ermeno, Officer-in-Charge, in coordination with San Ildefonso MPS, San Miguel MPS of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, and the Criminal Investigation Team (CIT), Regional Investigation Division (RID), Occidental Mindoro, following sustained intelligence gathering and operational coordination.
The accused was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for an alleged violation of Article 266-A, Paragraph (2) of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 11648, in relation to Article 266-B (Sexual Assault), docketed under Criminal Case No. R-26-12828, with recommended bail fixed at โฑ200,000.00.
The accused was likewise served warrants for alleged violations of Section 10(a) of Republic Act No. 7610, otherwise known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, docketed under Criminal Case Nos. R-26-12826 and R-26-12827, each carrying a recommended bail of โฑ80,000.00.
The arrested individual is presently under the custody of Calintaan MPS pending turnover to the issuing court for appropriate legal proceedings.
