On 161400 March 2026, COL ROMMEL M AGPAOA INF (GSC) PA, CDC Director, attended the 1st Quarter Malabon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) Meeting held at the MDRRMO Conference Room, 10th Floor, Malabon City. The meeting was presided by Mr. Roderick D. Tongol, City DRRM Officer and attended by Hon. Jeannie Sandoval, City Mayor and other members of the Navotas City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

The approval of the minutes of the 4th Quarter CY 2025 MDRRMC Meeting was presented. Key Agenda tackled: 1. Presentation of the CY 2025 Annual Accomplishment Report, 2. Discussion of upcoming activities for CY 2026, 3. Presentation of the Gawad Kalasag 2025 assessment findings, 4. Updates on the 1st Quarter CY 2026 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), and other matters.

City Mayor Sandoval concluded the meeting with a message of appreciation, emphasizing the importance of strong collaboration among local government units, response agencies, and stakeholders to further enhance Malabon City's safety, preparedness, and resilience.

On November 13, 1944, U.S. forces, alongside allied Filipino guerrillas, made strategic advances — including operations on Kilay Ridge — as part of the larger campaign to secure dominance in the Leyte area. While not a single battle confined to that day, these operations were critical engagements within the broader series of fights around Ormoc Bay and Leyte.

This campaign marked the return of General Douglas MacArthur to Philippine soil and showcased the courage and resilience of Filipino freedom fighters. Their sacrifice exemplifies the unbreakable spirit that lives on today in the citizen-soldiers of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army.
