In September 1947 the Philippine Red Cross established the Caloocan sub-office to serve the towns of Caloocan (later converted into a city), Malabon, and Navotas. Its office was situated inside the municipal building. When the town of Caloocan became a city on January 16, 1962, the Red Cross sub-office bid for, and became an independent chapter. The first auxiliary board was then organized, and la
ter its chapter Board of Directors. The first auxiliary board was headed by Dr. Jesus Basa, as honorary chairman; Dr. Ciriaco Santiago, Chairman, and Atty. Eliseo Marquez, Secretary, Mrs. Angelita Villavert, Chapter Administrator. The Caloocan City Red Cross counts on the ready support of officials of the city government, division of city schools, private organizations, and the various educational institutions in the city. The chapter has been training volunteers extensively to provide them an idea of how they can render their service to the community through the Red Cross. The Caloocan City Red Cross acquired its present lot on 7th Avenue, Grace Park at the compound of Tandang Sora Elementary School on May 15, 1970. The Bureau of Public Schools donated the lot through the efforts of City Schools Supt. Mrs. Modesta Boquiren. The chapter building was completed on September 26, 1971, and was inaugurated on November 18 of the same year. PRC- Caloocan City Chapter established its Blood Service Facilities on November 24, 1998, by Former Hon. Congressman Roberto Guanzon. To assist the organization in delivering timely and efficient humanitarian service to the community, the chapter building was renovated and granted an extension building through the effort of the Chapter Chairman Russel C. Ramiez, Chapter Administrator Jennifer De Guzman, and the support of the City Government of Caloocan City through the honor of Mayor Enrico โRecomโ Echiverri. PRC Caloocan Blood Blank was renovated in 2013 through the generosity of Assistant Director Danilo Sanchez. Through the continuous support given by the Chapter Board Members, Stakeholders, sponsors, division of city schools, LGUโs the chapter was able to acquire Blood Bank Equipment, Brand New Toyota Hi-Ace Ambulance Vehicle. To ensure timely, efficient, and compassionate humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable, PRC Caloocan Chapter initiated MOA between five (5) big hospitals in Caloocan City. Under the leadership of Chairman Russel Ramirez and Mr. Roberto R. Dacles Chapter Administrator, the Caloocan City Chapter relentlessly pursued to bring its humanitarian services across its area of jurisdiction. In 2016, the Chapter acquired additional brand-new blood bank equipment through the generosity of the Rotary Club of Caloocan which expands the storage capacity of its blood service facility. In the same year, the National headquarters prepositioned a rescue vehicle with equipment that can respond to collapse structures and vehicular extrication. Five additional vehicles were added to its growing fleet in the following year, a Toyota Hi ace commuter van which is being utilized for bloodletting activities, a Toyota GL Grandia, and three motorcycles which are used for the fast delivery of vital services in the community. Red Cross 143 volunteers were established in most of the Barangays in Caloocan City to be the eyes, ears, and hands of the Philippine Red Cross at the community level. With the commitment and dedication of staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors, Caloocan City Chapter has consistently been in the top 10 well-performing chapters nationwide Since 2015 up to the present.

In the aftermath of the fire incident in Brgy. Tangos South, Navotas City yesterday, May 14, 2026, Philippine Red Cross - Caloocan City Chapter immediately deployed specialized teams to the San Roque High School Evacuation Center to provide urgent assistance to the affected families.
Our dedicated teams are currently on the ground providing:
๐ Emergency Medical Services (EMS): Ready to provide immediate medical care and first aid.
๐ค Welfare Services: Offering psychosocial support and assistance to help families cope with the trauma of the incident, particularly Psychological First Aid and Provision of Hotmeals.
