MASALUKOT IV ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KICKS OFF INSET 2026 WITH FOCUS ON LITERACY, NUMERACY, AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
MASALUKOT IV ELEMENTARY SCHOOL — Teachers of Masalukot IV Elementary School actively participated in the first day of the In-Service Training (INSET) on September 10, 2026, as the school launched a two-day capability-building program centered on strengthening teaching practices and improving learner outcomes.
Carrying the theme “Empowering Teachers, Elevating Learners: Advancing Literacy, Numeracy, and Science Proficiency through Strengthened Capability-Building, Robust Monitoring and Evaluation, and Alignment with DepEd’s New Ranking and Promotion Policy,” the training brought teachers together for a series of learning sessions designed to enhance their professional knowledge, instructional strategies, and commitment to learner development.
The first day formally opened with the Opening Program, Presentation of Objectives, and Training Overview, facilitated by Ma. Theresa A. Fornel, PhD, Principal I, from 8:00 to 8:30 in the morning. This was followed by an ELLNA Results Analysis, which focused on identifying learning gaps in literacy, numeracy, and science. The discussion also highlighted the school’s reported 51.33% proficiency rate and rank of 485 out of 771.
Teachers then engaged in an intensive session on Enhancing Teaching Techniques and Strategies to Improve Learner Literacy, facilitated by Claudia C. Guevarra, Teacher II, and Norivel B. Gonzales, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 noon. After the lunch break, the professional learning continued with a session on Enhancing Teaching Techniques and Strategies to Improve Learner Numeracy, facilitated by Anita E. Inciong, Teacher II, from 1:00 to 3:30 PM.
The afternoon sessions further emphasized the importance of professional development through Integrating PPST (DO 42, s. 2017) and IPPD in Professional Growth and Instructional Delivery, led by Ma. Theresa A. Fornel, PhD. The session provided an opportunity for teachers to connect professional standards and individual professional development with effective classroom instruction.
The first day concluded with a Synthesis and Wrap-Up: Recap and Clarifications, facilitated by Mark Patrics C. Verdera, Teacher I, from 4:30 to 5:00 PM. The activity gave participants an opportunity to reflect on the day’s learning, revisit important points, and clarify concerns before the conclusion of Day 1.
More than a series of training sessions, the first day of INSET 2026 underscored the school’s continuing commitment to empowering teachers and elevating learners. Through data-informed instruction, strengthened literacy and numeracy strategies, and professional growth anchored on PPST and IPPD, the teachers of Masalukot IV Elementary School continue to build their capacity to respond to the evolving needs of every learner.
Day 1 ended with renewed insights, shared experiences, and a stronger commitment to transform professional learning into meaningful classroom practice.
