Top 3 Regional Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in Carcar City, Cebu

In a carefully coordinated operation, authorities successfully captured one of the region’s most wanted fugitives on January 17, 2025, in Sitio Nangkaan, Barangay Perrelos. The suspect, identified as "Vio," holds the distinction of being the Top 3 Most Wanted Person at the Regional Level, as well as the Top 3 Most Wanted at the Provincial Level and Top 2 at the Municipal Level.

"Vio," a welder from Sitio Cogon, Barangay Poblacion 1, Carcar City, Cebu was arrested for his involvement in a robbery case, including the August 8, 2024, heist at Macy’s and Gold Chain in Ermita, Cebu City. His arrest came after the issuance of a warrant by Hon. Jennifer Karen A. Leyson, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 23, Cebu City, on January 16, 2025. The warrant set bail at PHP 100,000.

The operation was a joint effort involving the Tracker Team and Intelligence personnel of Carcar City Police Station (Lead Unit), Police Station 5 of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), and the Regional Intelligence Unit 7 Cebu Provincial Intelligence Team.

PLTCOL RUEL L BURLAT, Officer-In-Charge of Carcar City Police Station, commended his personnel for their diligence, stating, “This arrest reflects the Philippine National Police’s relentless commitment and dedication to apprehending fugitives and ensuring justice is served."

The suspect is currently detained at the Carcar City Police Station, awaiting turnover to the issuing court. This successful operation highlights the PNP’s unwavering resolve to bring fugitives to justice and maintain public safety.
