In observance of 𝗕𝘆𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼, the 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗖𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠𝗢) has intensified its monitoring and response operations to ensure the safety and security of the public during this solemn occasion.

Highway monitoring operations are actively conducted through the strategic deployment of personnel across identified substations to manage traffic flow, respond to emergencies, and assist motorists and devotees.

Simultaneously, response teams have been deployed to key parish locations within the City of Carcar to provide medical assistance and ensure crowd safety:

• St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish
• Our Lady of Lourdes Parish
• San Roque Parish
• San Isidro Labrador Parish – Calidngan

The Carcar City DRRMO remains on heightened alert and is closely coordinating with partner agencies to uphold public safety throughout the observance of Semana Santa.

Carcar City has been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 as Tropical Storm Basyang continues to affect the Visayas. Under Signal No. 2, gale force winds of 62 to 88 km/h may be experienced within 24 hours, posing a minor to moderate threat to life and property, especially in coastal and upland areas.

As of 4:00 AM, Basyang was located near Agusan del Norte and is moving west northwestward. Strong winds, heavy rainfall, and rough seas are expected to affect Cebu, with sea travel considered risky.

The public is advised to stay alert, secure surroundings, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow advisories from local authorities.

The City Government of Carcar, under the leadership of City Mayor 𝗛𝗢𝗡. 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗢 𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗢 𝗣. 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗦, and Vice Mayor 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗬. 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗦 𝗗𝗘 𝗗𝗜𝗢𝗦, continues to strengthen disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities beyond local boundaries.

The Carcar City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), headed by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗢𝗬𝗖𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗘 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗔𝗢, proudly participated in the Send-Off Ceremony held at Citi de Mari, SRP, Cebu City, as part of the preparations for the 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.
We are honored that the Carcar City DRRMO team was chosen to be part of the Medical and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team on standby for this prestigious international event. This selection reflects the competence, dedication, and readiness of our responders to serve not only the city of Carcar but also the nation in high-level international engagements.

This milestone marks a significant achievement for our office proof that Carcar City DRRMO is leveling up, gaining recognition, and standing shoulder to shoulder with elite response teams across the region. We remain committed to excellence, preparedness, and service, always ready to protect lives anytime, anywhere.
