Mayor Dianne E. Rosales, joined by Vice Mayor Francisco C. Rosales Jr., recently met with the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO) to discuss the progress of the construction of the New Municipal Building, including its latest development and ongoing works.
According to the engineering office, the building is now around 70% complete and is currently in Phase 7, covering the finishing and enclosure works, including masonry, interior and exterior works, and marble tiling.
Started during the administration of former Mayor Francisco Aurelio โAntetโ Rosales III, the project is being closely followed up by the present LGU leadership, as Mayor Dianne and Vice Mayor Jun look forward to seeing the building completed and ready to serve the people of Catarman.
Mayor Dianne has also instructed the Municipal Engineering Office, through OIC Municipal Engineer Ritchel Gacusan, to prepare the Master Plan for the new municipal offices. This will cover the necessary facilities and equipment, including office tables and chairs, CCTV, computer systems, and other requirements to ensure that the new offices will be properly equipped, organized, and presentable for Catarmananons.
Once completed and operational, the new building will house the Mayorโs Office and various municipal departments, allowing the LGU to consolidate its offices in one location and help ease congestion within the streets of the Poblacion.
Located at the proposed Catarman Government Center in Barangay Macagtas, approximately two kilometers from the town proper, the three-storey building has a total floor area of 5,400 square meters and is connected to the national highway by a 115-meter access road.
The project is jointly funded by the Local Government Unit of Catarman, the Provincial Government of Northern Samar, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). #
