📊 EMPOWERING ASSOCIATIONS THROUGH FINANCIAL LITERACY AND ACCOUNTABILITY! 🤝
The City Public Employment Service Office (CPESO), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Samar Provincial Office, successfully conducted the two-day Basic Skills Training Workshop on Financial Literacy and Report Making for Associations on October 14–15, 2026, at Bodega Skol Bar, Catbalogan City. The activity brought together seven accredited local associations to strengthen their knowledge and skills in financial management, bookkeeping, and organizational report preparation.
Facilitated by Mr. Joseph A. Gabuay, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist of DTI–Samar, the training covered basic accounting principles, financial statement preparation, proper fund management, and the importance of transparency and accountability. Through interactive discussions and hands-on workshops, participants practiced preparing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, applying their learnings to improve their respective associations’ financial documentation and reporting practices.
This initiative reflects CPESO’s continuing commitment to empowering local associations through relevant capacity-building programs and meaningful partnerships. By strengthening financial competencies and promoting good governance, CPESO and DTI aim to help associations manage their resources responsibly, make informed decisions, and build stronger, more sustainable organizations for their communities. 💚
