As part of Project H.E.A.R.T. (Honesty, Empowerment, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork), the 1103RD Maneuver Company, led by 𝐏𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐈𝐄 𝐉 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐇, Officer In-Charge continues to strengthen youth awareness through a meaningful symposium focusing on anti-bullying, Nihilistic Violent Extremism (NVE), and the responsible use of social media with the collaboration and support of Mrs. Alidel P. Galliego, School head Teacher I of San Antonio Elementary School.

During the activity, Pat Regil Baldonado initiated different forms of bullying, including physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying, as well as their possible effects on the emotional well-being, confidence, and academic performance of young learners. The students were reminded to treat their fellow learners with respect, avoid harmful jokes and discriminatory remarks, and report incidents of bullying to teachers, school authorities, or other trusted adults.

While Pat James Sanchez highlighted the influence of social media on the behavior, attitudes, and decision-making of young people. The participants were encouraged to think critically before sharing online content, avoid spreading false information, refrain from engaging in cyberbullying, and remain vigilant against online manipulation, harmful content, and individuals who promote hatred or violence.

Furthermore, Pat Louie Maangue discussed the Nihilistic Violent Extremism (NVE), emphasizing the importance of recognizing and understanding online behaviors, narratives, and ideologies that encourage senseless violence, glorify destruction, or promote harm against oneself or others. The students were advised to exercise caution when encountering disturbing or threatening online content and to report credible threats or suspicious activities to appropriate authorities rather than engaging with or spreading such materials.

The activity concluded with a reminder that every student has a role in preventing bullying, promoting responsible social media use, and rejecting violence and harmful ideologies. The participants were encouraged to speak up, seek guidance from trusted adults, and help build a school community founded on respect, compassion, accountability, and peace.

Camp Sgt Quintin M Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City – Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) clarified that the Bajaj Maxima Cargo vehicle bearing the police logo and currently being used by the RPSB in Cateel, Davao Oriental, was not issued or procured by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The vehicle was provided through an initiative of the Municipal Government of Cateel under Mayor Emilou C Nuñez and donated to the RPSB Cluster 4 to support its mobility, particularly in delivering basic services and implementing the team’s Quick Impact Project in the community.

The initiative provides the RPSB team with additional mobility to reach residents and carry out activities closer to the community, particularly in areas where transportation is essential to the delivery of basic police services.

PRO 11 appreciates the support extended by the Municipal Government of Cateel, recognizing it as a concrete example of local government and police partnership in bringing services closer to the people. Such initiatives help complement the efforts of police personnel on the ground and strengthen community-based policing.

The initiative also reflects the Community Engagement and Collaboration and Good Governance priorities of PRO 11 Acting Regional Director PBGEN BENIGNO L GUZMAN, which emphasize working closely with local government units and other stakeholders in addressing the needs of communities.

Through sustained partnerships with LGUs and communities, PRO 11 continues to strengthen community-based police service and support efforts toward safer and more responsive communities, in line with the direction of Chief, PNP PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ JR and his mantra, “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
