Our Pahinungod volunteers from the UP High faculty shared their expertise on differentiated instruction, classroom assessment strategies, and inclusive education during the Professional Development Training held on May 29, 2026, at Cubacub National High School.
Facilitated by Asst. Prof. Ryan Daniel Dablo, Asst. Prof. Ericka Mae Melendres, and Asst. Prof. Ofelia Aljade Ramos, the training highlighted the power of collaboration, service, and shared learning in creating more responsive and inclusive classrooms for every learner.

Session 3
The UP Pahinungod Volunteers reunited with their tutees for the third session of the Pahinungod Numeracy Tutorial last saturday, May 16, 2026. The volunteers witnessed the tutees’ diligence, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning.
The session also became an opportunity for the volunteers to build stronger connections with the learners by creating a supportive and encouraging environment.

Second Saturday, stronger connections.
The UP High student volunteers returned to Brgy. Capitol for their second numeracy tutorial session on May 9, 2026, continuing their mission of learning and service.
More than solving math problems, the day was filled with excitement as the children happily reunited with their ates and kuyas.

Session 1
UP High School students, under the tutelage of Asst. Prof. Fernand G. Bernardez, conducted their first tutoring session for children from Brgy. Capitol on May 2, 2026, at the Brgy. Capitol Hall. The activity focused on providing numeracy tutorials to support the learners’ foundational mathematical skills. The children were delighted to meet their ates and kuyas for the first time and eagerly expressed their excitement for the upcoming Saturday sessions throughout the month of May.

Service begins with preparation.
UP Cebu Grade 10 students, guided by Asst. Prof. Fernand G. Bernardez, underwent Pahinungod Volunteer Training with AHA Learning Center last April 25, 2026 as part of their pre-deployment for Project Padayon
Starting this May 2026, these young volunteers will conduct Saturday tutorial sessions for learners in Barangay Capitol Site. This just proves that meaningful service starts with prepared hearts and willing minds.
