Strengthening Gender Mainstreaming in DOST Central Visayas 💜

DOST Central Visayas conducted the Gender Audit using the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) and GFPS Functionality Assessment Tool during its Annual GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop on August 24–25, 2026, at the Elena Diola Memorial Hall of DOST Central Visayas.

The two-day workshop provided an avenue to assess the agency’s gender mainstreaming efforts, strengthen the functionality of the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), assess the areas for intervention of its GAD Agenda, and identify key areas for improvement.

The assessment paved the way for the development of the 2027 GAD Plan and Budget of DOST Central Visayas, ensuring that gender-responsive approaches are integrated into the agency’s programs, activities, and initiatives.

Together, we continue to advance gender equality and promote a more inclusive and responsive DOST Central Visayas.

Empowering project implementers to champion gender-responsive Science and Technology! 💜

The Department of Science and Technology Region VII (DOST-7), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Unit, conducted a capacity-building training for project implementers from Cebu, Bohol, and the Regional Office to strengthen gender mainstreaming in program implementation.

By enhancing their knowledge on gender analysis, inclusive service delivery, and gender-responsive project development, participants are better equipped to become effective GAD Advocates and Warriors—ensuring that Science and Technology initiatives are responsive, inclusive, and aligned with the Magna Carta of Women (RA 9710).

Together, we continue building a more inclusive and gender-responsive future through Science, Technology, and Innovation.

Advancing Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment through Collaboration in Central Visayas

The Regional Gender and Development Committee Central Visayas (RGADC VII) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment through strengthened collaboration and gender-responsive governance.

During the meeting, the committee:

✔ Reviewed the RGADC–Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Workplan;
✔ Approved the creation of the RGADC VII Technical Working Group; and
✔ Agreed to conduct a training on the use of the GFPS Functionality Assessment Tool (GFAsT) to strengthen Gender and Development (GAD) implementation across agencies.
✔ Oriented on the PCW Advisory No. 2026-001 on safeguarding GAD in the implementation of the Mandatory Electricity and Petroleum Conservation Program and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313)

Through strengthened collaboration and shared commitment, RGADC VII continues to champion inclusive, gender-responsive governance and empower communities across Central Visayas.

Department of Science and Technology Region VII project implementers, and partner women entrepreneurs deepened their understanding of gender-responsive programming during the session, “Advancing Inclusive Growth: Gender-Responsive Programming for WEs and New Project Implementers,” anchored on Republic Act No. 9710 – Magna Carta of Women. Strengthening the capacity of development players and partners in developing more inclusive and sustainable projects!
