Cambinocot Elementary School Successfully Hosts the Division-Wide Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Program, June 1, 2026
Cambinocot Elementary School was deeply honored and privileged to be chosen as the host school for the Division-Wide Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Program. This milestone event showcased the spirit of unity, volunteerism, and collaboration among educators, stakeholders, parents, learners, and community partners in support of quality education.
Preparations began early in the morning as the school staff, parents, and community members worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the program. As early as 6:00 a.m., the registration committee was already stationed at their designated area, while the usherettes, together with the BSP and GSP leaders, were ready to welcome guests.
The school's Drum and Bugle Corps added excitement and enthusiasm as they awaited the arrival of the Schools Division Office personnel, stakeholders, and participants joining the motorcade parade.
To warmly receive the guests, breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and served under designated tents. Attendees were treated to local delicacies such as pospas, boiled sweet potatoes, boiled bananas, and freshly brewed coffee. Upon arrival, guests, stakeholders, and DepEd officials were courteously ushered to their respective areas by the welcoming team.
The event was graced by the presence of Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Nimfa D. Bongo and her staff, along with various stakeholders and partners. At around 9:00 a.m., Cebu City Mayor Hon. Nestor Archival arrived together with his staff and was joined by Hon. Nice Archival. Both officials were formally recognized during the program.
The formal program commenced with the welcome address and rationale delivered by Mr. Gerry C. Demellites, School Principal of Cambinocot Elementary School. Inspirational messages were shared by Dr. Nimfa D. Bongo and Mayor Nestor Archival, emphasizing the importance of community participation, shared responsibility, and partnership in creating a conducive learning environment for all learners.
One of the highlights of the event was the distribution of school bags and educational supplies to learners, generously provided by Hon. Nestor Archival and Hon. Nice Archival as part of their advocacy to support education and promote the welfare of Cebu City's children. The recipients and their families expressed their gratitude for the assistance, which will greatly contribute to the learners' educational needs.
A memorable moment during the program was the surprise birthday celebration prepared for Mayor Nestor Archival. A birthday cake was presented, and everyone joyfully sang a birthday song in his honor, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
The celebration was further enlivened by intermission numbers featuring performances from teachers and learners, showcasing their talents, creativity, and school spirit. These presentations added joy and inspiration to the occasion.
Following the program proper, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted to formally signify the opening of the Brigada Eskwela activities. Thereafter, stakeholders, volunteers, teachers, parents, and learners proceeded to their assigned work areas and actively participated in various school improvement activities, demonstrating the true essence of bayanihan and collective responsibility.
After the completion of the morning activities, a sumptuous lunch was served to the hundreds of attendees. Guests, volunteers, stakeholders, and participants enjoyed the fellowship meal prepared through the collaborative efforts of the school and its partners. The warm hospitality and delicious food were greatly appreciated, leaving everyone satisfied and further strengthening the camaraderie among all participants.
The success of this significant undertaking was made possible through the unwavering support and cooperation of numerous individuals and organizations. Cambinocot Elementary School extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Local School Board chaired by Hon. Joy Augustus Young through Engr. Reswin Pales; the Cebu City Division led by Dr. Nimfa D. Demellites; the faculty and staff of VBCMNHS led by Mrs. Minerva Ardaba, School Principal; and all parents, learners, and volunteers whose dedication and commitment contributed to the successful conduct of this landmark event.
