The “Andam ta Bai” Program is a community-driven initiative focused on empowering the youth and strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and public safety awareness in Barangay Lorega San Miguel.

This initiative is spearheaded by the Sangguniang Kabataan of Lorega San Miguel, led by Chairman Hon. James Cabido , together with Councilor Hon. Jahpee Entice (SK Committee on Disaster Management), and the entire SK Council.

The Lorega San Miguel Emergency Response Team (LOSAMERT) – Fire Rescue and EMS, led by:

Wendyll Lastimoso (EMS Team Leader) and the rest of the entire LOSAMERT Crew.

Through this collaborative effort, “Andam ta Bai” aims to cascade a culture of preparedness, discipline, and volunteerism—ensuring that the next generation is equipped, empowered, and ready to respond in times of emergency.

The Office of Lorega San Miguel DRRMO ( OIC Ace J. Repdos) , together with the Lorega San Miguel Emergency l Response Team – Fire Rescue and EMS ( Fire Rescue TL's Floyd Stephen Polvis, Elmer Noel , EMS TL Wendyll Lastimoso and the Responder Crew) , conducted a site inspection in preparation for the upcoming Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) under the SK Lorega San Miguel program, “Risk Ready / Andam ta Bai.”

Velez College – Department of Occupational Therapy successfully launched a Community Outreach Program on Health Promotion and Wellness at Barangay Lorega San Miguel.

As part of the initiative, Ace J. Repdos, the Barangay’s DRRM Officer-in-Charge, served as the key resource speaker, sharing valuable insights on Common Barangay Hazards and household-level emergency prevention measures.

The event was made even more impactful with the active participation of the Lorega San Miguel Emergency Response – Fire, Rescue, and EMS Unit. A highlight of the program was the emergency response demonstration led by Wendyll Lastimoso ( EMS Team Leader), showcasing critical first-response techniques and reinforcing the importance of preparedness and swift action during emergencies.

This meaningful collaboration between the academic sector and local emergency responders helped raise community awareness and foster a culture of safety and wellness in Lorega San Miguel.

LOSAMERT EMS successfully conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) Demonstration upon the request of the Cebu Churches of Christ Men's Fellowship.

This initiative was made possible with the support and authorization of Hon.Nilo De la Cerna, Barangay Captain of Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City and Hon. Fritz Fdh Herrera , Chairman of the Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, through the Office of Ace J. Repdos, OIC of the BDRRMO.

The Lorega - San Miguel Emergency Response Team - Losamert - Fire Rescue and EMS, in collaboration with Lorega San Miguel DRRMO, successfully conducted a FREE training on Introduction to Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and Fire Extinguisher Use for Grade 11 students of Zapatera National High School.

This initiative aims to equip the students with life-saving skills and awareness on basic emergency response, ensuring they are prepared to take action in critical situations.

Few flicks taken during the Emergency Simulation Exercises and Fire drill ( OLP) spearheaded by BFP R7 Cebu City FS , CBP Fire Station coordinated thru BFP R7 - Community Relations Section and cascaded down to Lorega San Miguel- DRRMO headed by Ace J. Repdos who stood as the Incident Commander during the exercises. The operation was performed primarily by Lorega - San Miguel Emergency Response Team - Losamert - Fire Rescue and EMS led by FV Floyd Stephen Polvis, FV Elmer Noel and Medic Wendyll Lastimoso. Present also as full suppport units from LSM-CFAG, LSM-BPSO and Strike Team, Carreta Fire Brigade and Hipodromo Fire Brigade.

This activity is also fully supported by the Lorega San Miguel Barangay Council headed by Barangay Captain Hon. Nilo Dela Cerna, Committee Chair on Disaster Risk Reduction Management Hon. Fritz Fdh Herrera and Lorega San Miguel SK Council headed by SK Chair Hon. James Cabido.
