A meaningful milestone was marked during the Change of Head of Office Ceremony presided over by CAPT EMMANUEL A PANTALEON PN(GSC), as leadership responsibilities were formally transitioned in a solemn and dignified rite.

Outgoing Officer ENS MARIZ S LUPA PN officially relinquished her duties as Officer-in-Charge, RRA to ENS JOSHUA A ALCOVINDAS PN, and her responsibilities as Officer-in-Charge, ADMIN to ENS NICO M MARIร‘O PN. The ceremony symbolized not only the transfer of authority but also the continuity of service, accountability, and commitment to excellence within the unit.

In her heartfelt message, ENS LUPA reflected on her journey with humility and strength. She shared a light yet meaningful anecdote about often being mistaken for someone much younger because of her height, recalling how she was once told, half-jokingly, that she looked like โ€œparang batang inutusan bumili ng suka.โ€ Though she smiled at the remark, she carried within her a powerful reminder:

Her words resonated deeply, reminding everyone present that true leadership transcends physical attributes and is anchored in character, competence, and unwavering dedication.

As ENS LUPA steps forward to new endeavors, her contributions and example remain a testament to steadfast service. With confidence and trust, the unit now looks ahead as ENS ALCOVINDAS and ENS MARIร‘O assume their new roles, ready to uphold the standards of leadership and integrity entrusted to them.

The ceremony stood as a proud affirmation that leadership is a shared mission โ€” carried not by stature, but by strength of heart and commitment to serve.

BRAVO ZULU!

A meaningful learning experience unfolded as Reservists and ROTC cadets of the Naval Reserve Center Eastern Visayas took part in the Shipboard Tour aboard the newly commissioned BRP Diego Silang (FFG-07).

The activity provided participants with first-hand exposure to life at sea, naval ship organization, safety protocols, and the operational environment of a modern Philippine Navy warship. Through guided tours and onboard briefings, the trainees gained valuable insight into the roles, responsibilities, and discipline required of naval personnel while strengthening their appreciation of naval service.

Commissioned on 05 April 2023, the BRP Diego Silang (FFG-07) is a guided-missile frigate built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea. As one of the most advanced surface combatants of the Philippine Navy, the ship is equipped with modern sensors, weapons, and command systems designed to enhance maritime security, territorial defense, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.

This shipboard tour not only enriched the knowledge and skills of the reservists and ROTC cadets but also reinforced their commitment to serve with competence, patriotism, and professionalismโ€”steadfast in support of the Navyโ€™s mission to protect our seas and the Filipino people.

Unity, discipline, and readiness were once again on full display during the Weekly Formation of the Naval Forces Reserveโ€“Eastern Visayas (NFR-EV) and the 82nd Marine Battalion Reserve at the Naval Reserve Center Eastern Visayas. More than a routine assembly, the formation reaffirmed the collective commitment of reservist personnel to duty, professionalism, and service to the nation.

Held alongside the formation was the weekly conference, headed and presided over by the Commander, NRCENEV, CAPT EMMANUEL A PANTALEON PN(GSC), with the presence and support of the Acting Chief of Staff, NFREV, CDR GUY FIDENCIO G GABISON III PN(RES), and the Acting Executive Officer of the 82nd Marine Battalion Reserve, 1LT JOSE GABRIEL G LASALA PN(M)(RES). The conference served as a vital platform for guidance, coordination, and alignment of operational priorities, strengthening unity of effort and enhancing organizational readiness. Together, these activities underscore the steadfast dedication of the reservist force in upholding excellence, preparedness, and mission effectiveness in service of peace, security, and national development.
