The University of Southern Philippines Foundation values the health and safety of all members of the USPian community. Acknowledging that it's flu season once again, we ask for everyone’s cooperation in observing proper hygiene practices and preventive measures to limit the spread of the seasonal influenza virus in our campuses.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗹𝘂

𝟭. 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗸. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too. Please stay home when you are sick. This will help prevent spreading your illness to others.
𝟮. 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, using tissues and disposing of them correctly. Flu viruses spread mainly by droplets made when people with flu cough, sneeze or talk.
𝟯. 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀. Wash your hands often. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
𝟰. 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗲, 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵. Germs can be spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
𝟱. 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀.
𝟲. 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
𝟳. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘇𝗮.

Trivia/Fact: The National Library of the Philippines was established as the Museo-Biblioteca de Filipinas through the royal decree of August 12, 1887. It was named the National Library in 1928 and was later renamed the Bureau of Public Libraries in 1947 under the Office of the President. The Bureau reverted to its old name in 1964. The NLP got its present name in 2010 pursuant to Republic Act No. 10087.
