This coming LABAN Year-end Gala on December 21, 2025 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, prepare to amaze and be amazed as we celebrate our talents and beautiful selves in the 𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗡 𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 competition!

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀: P5,000 for the Champion/s, P3,000 for 2nd Place, and P2,000 for 3rd Place

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀:

1. Participants must be members of the LGBTQ community and bona fide residents of Barangay Apas.

2. Dangerous stunts are strictly prohibited. This includes acts involving fire, sharp objects, hazardous materials, or any performance that may cause harm to the participant or the audience.

3. Accepted Performance Categories:

• Dancing
• Spoken poetry
• Other safe, creative talents aligned with the event’s purpose

The rising number of HIV cases in the Philippines — the fastest-growing epidemic in the entire Asia-Pacific Region — is a reality we can no longer ignore. Now, more than ever, we need powerful stories that inform, inspire, and spark action.

🎥 We are inviting all Apasanons to submit short-film entries which would promote HIV awareness, combat stigma, and empower Filipinos to make informed choices.

Last Saturday, August 16, 2025, LABAN organized our second annual assembly Pakighimamat 2.0 with the support of Barangay Apas and Sangguniang Kabataan - Barangay Apas in Club Fort Med Resort, Boljoon.

Over 50 participants joined the seminar SOGIESC 101: Introduction to SOGIESC and Human Rights, where LABAN President Chatch Calderon discussed the importance of knowing one's S*xual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and S*x Characteristics (SOGIESC) and the struggle against discrimination. Our seminar's materials were supported by the Philippine Anti-Discrimination Alliance of Youth Leaders (PANTAY).

LABAN President Chatch Calderon also delivered LABAN's accomplishment report for 2024-2025, showcasing our activities and discussing the org's finances, as part of LABAN's efforts to remain transparent and accountable to our members. Chatch and LABAN Vice President Russel Semera both facilitated the seminar and team-building activities.

Present to give welcome remarks were Apas Barangay Councilor and Social Services Committee Chair Hon. Beth Maña, GAD Focal Dexter Anthony Sabandon, and SK Chair Hon. Shane Mangco. The event was also joined by Apas Treasurer Eda Obenieta; SK Councilors Hons. Rayne Aballe, Andrea Golucino, Charles Bacotot, and Angelo Borden; SK Secretary Anin Elmedulan and SK Treasurer Glydel Cabonita; along with other Apasanon youth including members of the Central Apas Youth Organization (CAYO).

LABAN also encouraged everyone to and undergo HIV testing, with free HIV testing provided during the activity, in line with our advocacy of fighting the HIV epidemic in the Philippines—the fastest-growing in the Asia-Pacific Region.

SOGIESC is not just for LGBTQIA+ people; it is a part of everyone, regardless of how they were born or how they live. Understanding your SOGIESC helps not only to better know yourself, but also to be kinder to and more respectful of others, and to do your part in helping our society become fairer, more equal, and safe from discrimination.

LABAN is once again thankful to Barangay Apas headed by Kap Jing-Jing Cabigon, Apas GAD headed by Barangay Councilor and Social Services Committee Chair Hon. Beth Maña and GAD Focal Dexter Anthony Sabandon, and SK Apas headed by Chairman Shane Mangco for wholeheartedly supporting us in this endeavor and our other activities.
