📢 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PUNONG BARANGAY
BARANGAY SAMBAG 2 STATE OF PREPAREDNESS FOR EL NIÑO
(Executive Order No. 09, Series of 2026)
In response to the threats of prolonged dry spells and heat waves associated with El Niño, the Office of the Punong Barangay of Sambag 2 has officially issued Executive Order No. 09, establishing our Barangay State of Preparedness.
The safety, health, and security of all Sambag 2 residents remain our topmost priority. Through EO No. 09, the Barangay Government is implementing proactive measures and response protocols to address potential challenges in water supply, health, agriculture, and public safety.
Key Measures & Directives:
💧 Water Conservation & Monitoring: Regular monitoring of communal water sources and establishing contingency distribution plans for affected sitios.
🏥 Public Health & Safety Measures: Heightened monitoring of heat-related illnesses (heat stroke, dehydration, skin diseases) and readiness of the Barangay Health Center to respond to emergencies.
🛑 Fire Prevention Drive: Strict enforcement of fire safety measures in coordination with local fire authorities, prohibiting open burning (pagsunog sa basura).
🌾 Community Awareness & Advisory: Educating residents on practical water conservation practices and proper heat stress management.
We strongly encourage every household and local establishment in Barangay Sambag 2 to do their part by practicing wise water usage and staying updated on local advisories.

Based on the latest DOST–PAGASA report dated September 23, 2026, the El Niño phenomenon is currently prevailing over the Tropical Pacific. It is forecast to intensify to a very strong El Niño during September to December 2026. PAGASA further projects that the phenomenon may persist until the first half of 2027, potentially affecting rainfall, water supply, health, and other essential community services.
