Under the Executive Order No. 033 of Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival, all government offices extends its suspension of work tomorrow, except for departments involved in disaster response, emergency operations, health services and other essential functions to continue the provision of critical public assistance.

Private institutions are also encouraged to ADAPT the said EO to ensure public safety of Cebu City constituents.

In response to the ongoing rainfall and flooding affecting several areas of our city, we are providing FREE BUS RIDES to assist stranded commuters and ensure everyone’s safety.

Nakikiisa ang Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) sa selebrasyon ng 51st Nutrition Month na may temang
🌱 “𝑆𝑎 𝑃𝑃𝐴𝑁: 𝑆𝑎𝑚𝑎-𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑎 𝑠𝑎 𝑁𝑢𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑆𝑎𝑝𝑎𝑡 𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑎 𝑠𝑎 𝐿𝑎ℎ𝑎𝑡!”
bilang patuloy na suporta sa pagpapatupad ng Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2023–2028.

The “𝗛𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗴 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗔” 𝗝𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 invites Filipino children and youth aged 13 to 17 to compose original jingles that creatively promote child rights, child protection, and the importance of the MAKABATA Helpline 1383. This contest seeks to harness the creative energy of young Filipinos to spread awareness and inspire collective action for the welfare of children nationwide.

Lubos na nababahala at kinukundena ng Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) ang dumaraming nauulat na kaso ng Online Sexual abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) at Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Materials (CSAEM).

Sa Angeles, Pampanga, nasakote ng PNP WCPC Luzon Field Unit ang isang ina na di umano’y inaalok online ang kanyang mga menor de edad na anak. Ang nasabing Ina ay may karelasyong dayuhang online at syang nag impluwensya upang gawin ang nasabing karumaldumal na krimen sa sariling anak.

Isang single mom na influencer naman, tumangis ng malaman niyang d iumano’y nabiktima sila at ang kanyang walang kamuwang-muwang na paslit na anak sa isang CSAEM na ginawa ng Artificial Intelligence o AI. Ayon sa influencer, ginamit ang kanilang post na kasama ang batang paslit, gamit ang makabagong teknolohiya, pinalitan ng malaswang video ang inang influencer nang sinasabing ari ng lalaki.

Ang pang-aabusong sekswal sa mga bata sa paggagawa at pagbebenta ng malaswang nilalaman ay isang anyo ng OSAEC. Ipinagbabawal ito sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 11930, na mas kilala bilang Anti-OSAEC and CSAEM Act. Ayon sa Seksyon 4, pati na rin sa Seksyon 10 (a) ng nasabing batas, ang sinumang mapatunayang may kinalaman sa paggawa, pamamahagi, o pagbebenta ng anumang uri ng sekswal na materyal na kinasasangkutan ng mga bata ay papatawan ng parusang habambuhay na pagkakakulong at multang hindi bababa sa dalawang milyong piso. Layunin ng batas na ito na tuldukan ang malupit na krimeng ito at tiyaking mapanagot ang mga salarin sa ilalim ng batas.

Ang OSAEC ay hindi lamang simpleng paglabag sa batas, kundi isang matinding paglabag din sa karapatan ng bawat bata na mamuhay nang ligtas at may dignidad. Higit pa rito, ang ganitong traumatikong karanasan ay nag-iiwan ng malalim at pangmatagalang epekto sa emosyonal at sikolohikal na kalagayan ng mga biktima.

Bilang pangunahing ahensya ng pamahalaan na nangunguna sa pagtataguyod at pangangalaga sa kapakanan ng mga bata sa bansa, hindi matatanggap ng CWC ang anumang uri ng pang-aabuso o pagmamalupit laban sa kanila. Pinapalakas ng CWC ang panawagan para sa mas malawak na edukasyon sa mga komunidad hinggil sa pagprotekta sa karapatan ng mga bata. Naniniwala kami na ang bawat bata ay may karapatang lumaki sa isang ligtas, mapagmahal, at mapag-alagaing kapaligiran.

Ang MAKABATA Helpline 1383 ay patuloy na tumatanggap ng mga ulat at konsultasyon ukol sa karahasan, abuso, diskriminasyon, at pagpapabaya sa mga bata. Maaaring:
