MANDAUE CITY, CEBU—Stakeholders from the animation and creative sector gathered on May 25, 2026, for Cebuanimation: Marketing and Branding, a capacity-building workshop aimed at strengthening the strategic communications and brand management awareness of creatives in the region.

Held at the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) – Visayas Media Hub in Mandaue City, the event brought together industry experts, government representatives, and members of the animation community under the Cebuanimation network of animators.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Joshua Eleazar Domen, OIC Assistant Regional Director of DICT Region VII, who emphasized the importance of bridging creativity with sustainability through branding, marketing, and promotions. He also highlighted the significance of Cebu City as a UNESCO Creative City of Design, a recognition under the UNESCO Creative Cities Network where only 5 cities in the entire country have been recognized, which affirms the city’s leadership in innovation and creative industries.

As the animation and digital content industry continues to expand, initiatives like Cebuanimation serve as vital platforms for empowering creatives—not only to innovate, but also to sustain and scale their work responsibly.

The event was a collaboration between Cebuanimation, Mata Technologies, DTI, PCO, and DICT Region VII - Central Visayas ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB).

DICT Region VII – Central Visayas, through its ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB Region 7), proudly supported the IT-BPM Career Fair held at Holy Name University in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on April 22, 2025.

Organized by the 𝐁𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (BEDIPO), this activity marks the second leg of the Province of Bohol’s initiative to bring IT-BPM opportunities closer to students, in collaboration with key industry stakeholders.

The whole-day event was conducted in two batches, with more or less 500 participants per batch, gathering approximately a thousand students for a full day of learning and engagement. Participants gained valuable insights on career pathways, industry trends, and the skills needed to thrive in the IT-BPM sector, while industry partners provided practical knowledge and meaningful interactions.

Highlighting the activity, OIC Assistant Regional Director, Joshua Eleazar P. Domen once again led the panel discussion, inspiring and encouraging students to explore and pursue careers in the growing IT-BPM industry.

Through initiatives like this, DICT continues to strengthen industry-academe linkages and empower the next generation of digital professionals in the region.

𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐒𝐒𝐒) successfully conducted the 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 on April 16, 2026 at the PCO Visayas Media Hub in Mandaue City, in collaboration with 𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝟕 - 𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓 - 𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 (𝐈𝐈𝐃𝐁).

The event served as a platform to connect with the growing freelance sector, providing essential information on SSS membership, contributions, and benefits tailored for independent professionals.

Present in the said activity were Atty. Alberto Montalbo, Senior Vice President - Visayas Operations Group of SSS, and DICT7 Regional Director Frederick DC. Amores.

The activity brought together aspiring graduates of MDC and key industry players, with three major BPO companies in Bohol sharing valuable insights on career opportunities in the IT-BPM sector.
