In light of the recent volcanic activity of Mt. Kanlaon in
Negros Island and the resulting volcanic ashfall affecting parts of Cebu City, and pursuant to the advisory issued by Mayor Nestor Archival, Barrio Luz Elementary School immediately implemented precautionary measures to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all learners.

Following the official suspension of classes, the school promptly carried out measures to ensure the safe and orderly dismissal of all learners. As part of these efforts, face masks were distributed to students across all grade levels to help minimize exposure to volcanic ash while traveling home.

We encourage all parents, guardians, and learners to remain calm, stay indoors whenever possible, continue observing recommended health and safety precautions, and follow only official advisories issued by the concerned government agencies.
