Demonstrating its commitment to take action and care for every Cebuano, the Cebu City Government will roll out financial assistance for fire victims in Sitio Riverside, Barangay Tejero.
Through the Department of Social Welfare and Services, a payout is scheduled on 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗮𝘁 𝟵:𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗠 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹.

The assistance will be given to affected residents based on the extent of damage and living conditions, including:

• Totally damaged homes
• Partially damaged homes
• Sharers
• Renters
• Absentee owners

This initiative highlights the city’s prompt and coordinated response in ensuring that immediate assistance reaches those in need. By prioritizing timely support, Cebu City continues to take decisive steps in helping affected families recover and rebuild after the incident.

The Cebu City Government remains committed to extending assistance to all fire victims and ensuring that no one is left behind during times of crisis.

The Cebu City Government continues the implementation of the “Benteng Bigas” program, providing affordable rice at ₱20.00 per kilo to qualified beneficiaries in selected barangays from March 30 to April 1, 2026.

Under the program, NFA rice stocks distributed through KADIWA centers are intended primarily for identified priority sectors, with each eligible beneficiary allowed to purchase up to 20 kilos of rice, subject to availability.

-Minimum wage earners
-DepEd teaching and non-teaching personnel
-Identified beneficiaries of the Department of Agriculture

𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

The distribution follows established government procedures, including proper documentation of beneficiaries and coordination with national agencies for the release of rice stocks. Local government units ensure that only verified beneficiaries are included in the official list and that allocated stocks correspond to actual demand in each barangay.

Rice stocks are released through authorized channels and coordinated with concerned agencies to guarantee smooth and orderly distribution throughout the rollout.

Distribution remains on a first come, first served basis, while ensuring priority is given to the identified sectors.

The Benteng Bigas Program reflects the city’s continued commitment to making basic food commodities more accessible and affordable, especially for vulnerable communities.
