With warm gratitude and appreciation, the meeting was held at the VICTO National Cooperative Federation and Development Center who offered free of charge venue with refreshments, bringing together cooperatives to explore this proposed initiative.
CSF Section Senior CDS Gina F. Repunte led the meeting by providing an orientation to some interested cooperatives regarding potential core membership in the program. She emphasized that the cooperativesโ commitment would play a vital role in extending loan guarantees to members who lack collateral, thereby enabling them to access credit from banks and other financial institutions.
The following cooperatives from the province were represented during the session:
โข VICTO National Cooperative Federation and Development Center
โข Philippine Cooperative Central Fund Federation
โข Sibonga Multi-Purpose Cooperative
โข Community Rural Bank of Catmon Credit Cooperative
โข Cordova Multi-Purpose Cooperative
โข Camotes Multi-Purpose Cooperative

The coconut is known as the โTree of Lifeโ because almost every part of it can be used and turned into something valuable. But behind the value of every coconut product are hardworking coconut farmers whose dedication and sacrifices continue to keep the industry alive and growing. Thus, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), through the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), continuously conducts various programs and activities to further strengthen and support coconut farmers and their cooperatives.
In line with this, a total of 14 coconut farmersโ cooperatives from the provinces of Bohol and Cebu successfully participated in the Study Field Visit conducted at Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative, particularly at their Coco Hub facilities located in Tuburan, Cebu.
The participating cooperatives were inspired by the tour and learning experience as they witnessed the different coconut-based initiatives and value-adding activities of the cooperative. The visit provided additional knowledge and deeper insights into the coconut value chain, encouraging the participants to explore more opportunities for their own cooperatives and communities.
After the study field visit, the cooperatives attended the Value Chain Training facilitated by resource speakers from AgriCOOPh. The training was very engaging and interactive through various activities, workshops, and discussions that encouraged active participation among the attendees. Participants also shared best practices and valuable suggestions that could be applied in their respective cooperatives.
At the wrap up of the activity, the participating cooperatives expressed their gratitude to the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) through the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) for giving them the opportunity to learn, explore, and strengthen their understanding of the coconut industry value chain. Personnel from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Head and Regional Extension Offices VI, VII, and VIII gathered for the 3-day SPARCC (Batch 2) activity on May 19โ21, aimed at strengthening solidarity, collaboration, and partnership in advancing agrarian reform cooperatives.

One of its objectives is to cascade the approved Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between CDA and DAR at the field level for operationalization.
The activity also serves as a venue for knowledge-sharing, coordination, and collective efforts in promoting sustainable and inclusive community development through agrarian reform cooperatives. (LYMP)
