TO: All Tourists, Visitors, Tourism Stakeholders and the General Public

As agreed during the 1st Quarter Meeting of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council yesterday March 30, 2026, the following tourist destinations are OPEN this Holy Week:

Mt. Lanaya (Adventure Trail, Brgy. Legaspi)
Cambais Falls
Cancalanog Falls
Canlaob Falls
Libo Hills

However, please be advised that Canyoneering Activities will be CLOSED on April 3, 2026 (Good Friday) and will RESUME on April 4, 2026 (Black Saturday).

We encourage everyone to plan ahead, stay safe, and observe the solemnity of Holy Week.

Through this initiative, participants are now better equipped to document and safeguard our rich heritage, vibrant culture, and unique arts. Cultural mapping plays a vital role in preserving our identity while creating meaningful stories that attract and inspire visitors.

Our sincere appreciation goes to those who stepped up to participate and committed themselves to becoming cultural mappers. To the members of Alegria Tourism, Heritage, Culture and Arts Council (ATHC-AC), and to the Barangays that helped make this initiative possible, thank you for your cooperation.
We also want to express our deepest gratitude to our Municipal Mayor Gilberto "Doc Maggie" Magallon, M.D., for his constant support of programs that protect our identity and heritage. As part of the preparations before the full reopening of Mt. Lanaya, the Municipal Tourism Office ensures that all tour guides are equipped with Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid (FA) training.

Through this initiative, the safety of every guest is prioritized, and prompt, proper emergency response can be delivered in case of any unforeseen situation.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the MDRRMO-Alegria,Cebu and the entire training team for their dedication in equipping our guides with life-saving skills.

The Municipal Tourism Office of Alegria attended the Sports Tourism Forum last March 18, 2026, at NUSTAR Resort and Casino.

The forum aimed to explore how sports can drive tourism and economic growth, demonstrating the power of collaboration in elevating the country as a premier sports tourism destination.

Last March 13–15, 2026, at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, the Municipality of Alegria proudly participated in the 11th International Travel Festival (ITF) 2026, one of the biggest travel events that brings together destinations, tourism partners, and travel enthusiasts from around the world.

Through this event, the Municipality of Alegria had the opportunity to showcase its extraordinary natural wonders, various local products, lively culture, and the warm spirit of the Alegriahanon community. This initiative demonstrates the continuing efforts in fostering Alegria as a destination where thrill, nature, and adventure converge.

“Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Tourism in Cebu.” ✨

Cebu Provincial Tourism Office(CPTO) conducted Coordination Meeting with respective Tourism Officers and Cebu Travel Agencies on Online Booking and Status of Tourist Destinations in south of Cebu at Museo Sugbo. The coordination meeting on online booking and the status of tourist destinations in the south of Cebu was conducted to strengthen coordination between tourism offices and travel agencies.

The meeting served as a platform for tourism officers to present updates on their respective destinations, including current operations, visitor guidelines, and available tourism activities. It also aimed to discuss the implementation of online booking systems to improve visitor management and ensure organized tourism services. Through this activity, destinations such as Alegria, Badian, Ginatilan, Malabuyoc Moalboal, Samboan and Oslob were promoted to travel agencies to enhance collaboration, accurate tour packaging, and sustainable tourism development in southern Cebu.
