The Brigada Eskwela 2026 officially commenced on June 01, 2026, with a successful kick-off program that marked the beginning of a week-long preparation for the opening of classes. The activity was actively participated in by teachers, parents, learners, community volunteers, and partner stakeholders, reflecting a strong spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility.

The opening day highlighted the importance of unity in preparing a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment. Various school preparation activities immediately followed the kick-off ceremony, including classroom cleaning, minor repairs, and organization of learning spaces.

A notable highlight of the kick-off day was the presence and support of the Cebu City Police Office, which contributed to maintaining peace, order, and security during the event. Their assistance ensured the smooth flow of activities and reinforced the importance of safety and discipline within the school community.

ARMED PERSON ALARM LEADS TO ARREST OF SUSPECT, SEIZURE OF ILLEGAL FIREARM AND DANGEROUS DRUGS IN TISA

The swift response of Police Station 10 personnel to an armed person alarm resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the confiscation of an unlicensed firearm and illegal drugs during an operation conducted in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, in the early hours of June 1, 2026.

Personnel of the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Police Station 10, under the direct supervision of PCPT JOEL G DELA CERNA, immediately responded to a report of an armed person in the area. Upon arrival and assessment of the situation, responding officers observed the suspect in plain view carrying a firearm.

The suspect was promptly apprehended after authorities caught the suspect in possession of one (1) .22 caliber revolver loaded with two (2) live .22 caliber SPL ammunition. Incidental to the lawful arrest, the responding officers conducted a search which led to the recovery of four (4) small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. The confiscated illegal drugs had an estimated weight of 0.2 gram and a Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of Php1,360.00.

Thereafter, the suspect was brought to Police Station 10 and presently placed under temporary custody at Police Station 10 pending the filling of appropriate charges in court for violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

The successful operation underscores the vigilance, responsiveness, and commitment of Police Station 10 personnel in addressing threats to public safety. Their prompt action not only led to the removal of an unlicensed firearm from the streets but also prevented the further proliferation of illegal drugs and danger within the community.

SWIFT RESPONSE, SWIFT JUSTICE: MABOLO POLICE CAPTURE SHOOTING SUSPECT IN HOT PURSUIT OPERATION

The prompt and decisive response of personnel from Police Station 4, Cebu City Police Office, led to the immediate apprehension of a shooting suspect following a Wounded Person Alarm in Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City, on May 31, 2026, in the afternoon.

Police Station 4 personnel, under the direct supervision of Station Commander PMAJ THOM ED L TAGHOY II, swiftly responded to a report from a concerned citizen regarding a wounded person incident. Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers immediately secured the area and rendered assistance to the victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the chin. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the officers facilitated the victim’s immediate transport to Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) for medical treatment while simultaneously initiating an investigation to identify and locate the perpetrator.

Through the rapid gathering of information and investigation on the ground, investigators identified the suspect. Demonstrating exceptional coordination, determination, and commitment to public safety, Police Station 4 personnel immediately launched a hot pursuit operation. Their relentless efforts resulted in the swift arrest of the suspect shortly after the incident. Recovered from the possession and control of the suspect were one (1) Caliber .45 Pistol and two (2) live rounds of ammunition.

The successful operation highlights the exceptional responsiveness and dedication of Police Station 4 personnel, whose swift and coordinated actions led to the immediate arrest of the suspect and recovery of the firearm used in the incident.
