The Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group โ Central Visayas (MARSLEG-CV) headed by LTJG DUKE HOLDEM M SABA PCG, with the support of the Coast Guard District Central Visayas, Facilitated the lecture on a Drug-Free Workplace Program (DFWP) and the Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 conducted by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 7 today 06 March 2026.
The activity was held at Hawanan ni Lapu-Lapu, Coast Guard District Central Visayas, Cebu City, and was attended by personnel from Coast Guard District Central Visayas and Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group-Central Visayas. The lecture aimed to enhance awareness on the dangers and negative effects of illegal drugs, while promoting a safe, healthy, and drug-free working environment among Coast Guard personnel.The above mentioned lecture also emphasized the rule of uniformed personnel in supporting the governmentโs anti- illegal drugs campaign.

Marsleg-CV together with its unit under the leadership of ENS DUKE HOLDEM M SABA PCG, commander, Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group-Central Visayas successfully provided operational support to the Coast Guard District Central Visayas during the Fluvial Procession of the Senior Santo Nino In connection with 461st Sinulog Celebration, Held on 17 January 2026 at the Cebu -mactan channel . The mission focused on strengthening maritime safety, security, and inter-agency coordination amid the heightened movement of vessels and passengers throughout the celebration. This collaborative effort underscored the commitment of all participating units to public safety, security, and the peaceful celebration of the countryโs largest cultural and religious events.

๐๐ก ๐ฃ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฆ:The Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) recently concluded its pivotal Fourth Quarter MARSLEC Summit, bringing together top command personnel to evaluate the year's maritime security initiatives, refine operational policies, and strengthen crucial inter-agency coordination.
As part of the guidance of the Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG to enhance, capacitate, and develop the security and law enforcement capabilities of the PCG as the premier maritime law enforcement agency of the country, the summit served as a strategic platform not only to enhance future maritime law enforcement strategies but also to conduct a comprehensive year-end review of MARSLEC's accomplishments and the performance of its forces. Discussions centered on a detailed assessment of operational successes, identified shortcomings, and strategies for continuous improvement moving forward.
The conference drew key officials, including MARSLEC Force Commanders, Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group (MARSLEG) Commanders, HMARSLEC Staff Officers, and Senior Non-officers of the Command, ensuring representation from both strategic and operational levels.
A notable attendee was Captain Jane J Gesulgon PCG, the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Maritime Security Law Enforcement (CG-14), who discussed the cascading of CATCH procedures and other maritime security law enforcement related policies namely: Safety Security and Environmental Numbering System (SSEN), Coastal Security Patrol (CSP), Mission Order Law Enforcement Activity (MOLEA) and Coast Guard Law Enforcement Afloat Detachment (CG-LEAD) among others. Underscoring the strategic importance of the Command in the nation's overall maritime security framework.
The outcomes of this summit are expected to dictate the Command's operational and developmental priorities for the coming year, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and clean maritime environment.

The audit aimed to evaluate HMARSLECโs adherence to the standards of International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ensuring that its operations and management systems remain effective, consistent, and aligned with the principles of quality and continual improvement.
Through this activity, MARSLEC reaffirmed its strong commitment to operational excellence, organizational efficiency, and continuous improvement across all areas of its mandates.

LOOK: MARSLEG-CV Deployed CGK9 SAR Working Dogs to Bogo City, Cebu in relation to the recent Magnitude 6.9 Earthquake.
In response to the recent earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9, the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Group โ CV (MARSLEG CV), under the leadership of Commander, MARSLEG-CV, ENS DUKE HOLDEM M SABA PCG, and Deputy Commander, MARSLEG-CV, ENS JOAN C MORIGO PCG deployed the Coast Guard K9 Teams to Bogo City to assist in search and retrieval operations.
The deployment Composed of Nine (9) Search and Rescue Working Dogs with CGK9 SAR Handlers of the different Field Operating Unit of CGK9 Force to aid in locating and retrieving victims affected by the earthquake.
The operation demonstrates the continued commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard and MARSLEG CV in providing timely and effective disaster response support to affected communities.

๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: The Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC), through the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, M-3, spearheaded the Two-Day Communications and Operations Crash Course 2025 on September 10-11, 2025 at Headquarters MARSLEC, Coast Guard Base Taguig.
The two-day crash course covered key topics such as:
โข Scenario-Based Exercises (Legal Context) and Narrative Making (Report and Storylines) discussed by ๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฐ๐๐ฅ๐ข ๐ท๐ช๐ฎ, ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ซ, MARSLEC; and โข Case Study and Panel Discussion with Senior Officers Panel and Legal Officers of MARSLEC.
The final day of the session concluded with a panel discussion, where MARSLEG Commanders shared their valuable insights, perspectives, and recommendations based on the exercises and case studies. This interactive exchange of ideas fostered a deeper understanding of the realities of leadership, accountability, and legal decision-making in maritime operations, while also highlighting practical approaches to address real-world challenges.
