The Bureau of Customs – Port of Cebu conducted its first Flag Raising Ceremony (FRC) for the month on June 01, 2026, bringing together officials and personnel from the District Port and its Subports in a meaningful gathering centered on patriotism, spirituality, and recognition of employees’ milestones and achievements.

The ceremony opened with the traditional flag raising rites, followed by a Spiritual Speaking for Values Restoration by Mr. Sparks Favros, which forms part of the Port’s initiatives in support of the Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization (IAM-BOC) Movement of Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno. The activity encouraged personnel to remain grounded in integrity, accountability, professionalism, and compassion in public service, while reinforcing the importance of ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties.

As part of the program, the Port also acknowledged newly hired and promoted personnel for the position of Warehouseman III. Their recognition marked another milestone in strengthening the workforce of the Port and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to professional growth and operational excellence.

In addition, the June 2026 birthday celebrants were recognized during the ceremony. The simple yet meaningful acknowledgment highlighted the Port’s continued efforts to foster camaraderie, unity, and appreciation among its personnel.

District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad encouraged all personnel to remain committed to excellence, teamwork, and integrity as the Port continues to pursue its operational and revenue goals for the year.

Aligned with the directives of Commissioner Nepomuceno, the Port of Cebu remains committed to promoting a culture of professionalism, employee welfare, and values-driven public service.

Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) recognized District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad during its General Membership Meeting and Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2026 Grand Opening Salvo held on May 22, 2026, at Skyhall, SM Seaside City Cebu.

The recognition was presented by CCCI President Regan Rex King, acknowledging Collector Yap-Lumontad’s leadership and the Port of Cebu’s continued efforts in strengthening trade facilitation, fostering stronger partnerships with the business sector, and supporting economic growth in Central Visayas.

The event gathered leaders from government, business, and the private sector to formally open Cebu Business Month 2026 β€” a long-standing initiative that highlights Cebu’s role as one of the country’s premier centers for business, innovation, and investment.

β€œThis recognition is truly meaningful because it comes from our partners in the business community. More than a personal recognition, this reflects the collective efforts of the men and women of the Port of Cebu who continuously work to make our processes more efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of our stakeholders,” District Collector Yap-Lumontad said.

With the guidance from Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno, the Port of Cebu remains committed to strengthening partnerships with stakeholders, promoting trade facilitation, ensuring lawful revenue collection, and supporting initiatives that contribute to economic growth and ease of doing business in the country.
