Pursuant to MC No. 34 s. 2004, Guidelines in the Implementation of the Character Building Program, the AVRC II Awards and Recognition Committee sustained the implementation of the Character-Building Program for the staff and trainees.
Today, during the Monday Convocation, the AVRC II awarded the trainee who has shown the character ‘Compassion’ for April 2026.
The awardee is, Mr. Rolan S. De Gracia

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | A Staff Welfare Activity was successfully conducted this afternoon at the AVRC II Conference Room 🩵
This monthly activity aims to promote work-life balance, relieve stress, and strengthen teamwork and camaraderie among AVRC II staff 🫱🏻🫲🏼✨
The activity featured fun and engaging games, including a ball transfer challenge using pens 🖊️and the Guess the Next Lyric game 🎶🎤, where staff actively participated and showcased teamwork, coordination, and creativity.
The activity concluded with the Blue Team emerging as the champion 💙, followed by the Yellow Team in 2nd place 💛, and the Red Team in 3rd place.❤️

AVRC II’s General Staff Meeting for the month of May 2026 was successfully held today at the AVRC II Conference Room.
Part of the activity included a sharing session where three staff members shared something about themselves, promoting camaraderie and helping everyone get to know each other better.
Section updates were also presented through an open discussion where staff actively shared their ideas, insights, and suggestions, fostering collaboration and teamwork among everyone.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | AVRC II, in collaboration with the Social Security System (SSS), successfully conducted an orientation for trainees on May 22, 2026, at the AVRC II Multipurpose Hall.
The activity provided valuable information on SSS programs, benefits, and services, helping trainees gain awareness of the importance of social security and financial protection for their future employment and livelihood.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊| AVRC II warmly welcomed the Social Work students from Andres Bonifacio College of Dipolog City during their center visit last May 11, 2026.
During the visit, the programs and services of the center were discussed, followed by a guided tour of the facilities to give the students a better understanding of the center’s operations and services for persons with disabilities.

LOOK: The Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II (AVRC II) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7—Central Visayas (DSWD-7) marked the culminating activity for Batch 1 and 2 finishers on May 21, 2026, of the bread and pastry production training.
The FPTI-Banilad Center for Professional Development (BCPD), funded by Australian Aid and Reledev Australia, trained 45 National Certificate II (NCII) holders out of 50 enrolled participants.
The program opened with a prayer and the National Anthem led by AVRC II clients, followed by a welcome address by the Vocational Training Section Head, Florita Q. Dabon, and an inspirational message from BCPD School Director Ms. Elizabeth Lopez. Three finishers—Rodolfo Lucañas, Ronald Leguiz, and Rolan De Gracia—shared their success stories before certificate distribution.
Vocational Training Section Head Ms. Florita Q. Dabon, AVRC II Center Head Dr. Jera C. Armendarez, and BCPD School Director Ms. Elizabeth Lopez presented the certificates to the finishers. PDO III and AVRC II Supervising Social Worker Mr. Michael V. Solera delivered the closing remarks.

LOOK: Staff and clients of the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II (AVRC II) gathered for a Holy Mass on May 15, 2026, at the center’s covered court inside the AVRC II compound, Labangon, Cebu City, as a moment of spiritual preparation ahead of the 49th Commencement Exercises.
The Mass provided the graduating clients and the entire AVRC II community an opportunity to pause, reflect, and draw strength from their faith in preparation for this important milestone in their lives.
Through this act of communal prayer, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7 – Central Visayas reaffirms its commitment to the holistic well-being of its clients by nurturing not only their skills and livelihood, but also their spiritual growth and personal development.

The Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC) II, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry(DTI), successfully conducted a seminar-workshop on Entrepreneurial Mindset, Simple Bookkeeping, and Introduction to Marketing Strategy on May 20, 2026, at the AVRC II Multipurpose Hall.
The activity aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to start and manage their own small businesses.

LOOK: With hearts full of pride and eyes bright with hope, the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center II (AVRC II) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7 – Central Visayas (DSWD-7) celebrated its Commencement Exercises on May 15, 2026, at the covered court of the AVRC II Compound, under the theme "Rising Beyond Limits: Creating Ability, Resilience, and New Opportunities."
Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, CESO III, delivered the opening message, while Ms. Josephine Akiatan and Ms. Priscilla Gayas represented TESDA Regional Office VII Regional Director Engr. Gamaliel B. Vicente Jr., CESO III, who served as the keynote speaker.
The candidates for graduation were proudly presented before the audience, marking the culmination of their hard work and perseverance. One by one, certifications and awards were placed in the hands of trainees who refused to let their circumstances define their future.
Eleuterio Queliste Jr. spoke on behalf of his fellow awardees in a heartfelt expression of gratitude, while Junard Bergoso of Alumni Batch 2010 reminded the graduates that the path they now walk has been traveled before—and that what lies ahead is worth every step. The program was ably led by Masters of Ceremony Ivan A. Vitor and Maria Jessa B. Labra.
Behind every accomplishment is a team that makes it possible. Center Head Dr. Jera C. Armendarez, MD, MPH, MDM, together with the dedicated staff of AVRC II, ensured that every detail of the celebration was carried out with care and excellence—a reflection of their commitment to the clients they serve.
True to its theme, this milestone stands as a powerful reminder that limits are not walls but starting points—and that DSWD-7 remains steadfast in its belief that every person, given the right support, is capable of building a life of dignity and purpose.
