YMCA introduced Scouting in Cebu and conducted Scouting activities and competitions in Scouting skills. Pioneer schools which were active in Scouting were City Central School, Zapatera Elementary School, San Nicolas Elementary School, Lapu-lapu Elementary School (Mactan), Cebu Provincial High School, Cebu Normal Laboratory School and Colegio de San Carlos. The total Scout membership was a little over one thousand.
Cebu Council had its own Headquarters building along Jones Avenue. The man responsible for its construction was Schools Division Superintendent and Council President Dr. Pedro G. Guiang. It was made possible through the P5.OO donation from each teacher in the Division of Cebu.
Another significant achievement of Dr. Guiang was the re-greening of Cebu. He brought Boy Scouts to Buhisan and requested them to plant teak, mahogany and narra trees.
1957-1966
Cebu Council was changed to Lapu-lapu Council. The change was brought to the fore, the singular exploit of a Cebuano Chieftain, Lapulapu, the first defender of his people, who successfully repulsed a foreign invader. However, the original name of the Council was restored in the later years.
1959 – The Don Gil Garcia Trophy was introduced. It was the local counterpart of the Lorillard Spencer Trophy of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
1962 – The first Wood Badge Course outside Manila was held in Camp 7 in Minglanilla.
1965 – Cebu Council hosted the Third National Jamboree at Capitol Hills Scout Camp on June 12-19. It was participated by 4,844 Scouts and Scouters coming from 66 local Councils and overseas Scouts from the Boy Scouts of America and Boy Scouts of China.
1966 – Atty. Raymundo A. Crystal, Council President, led the greening of the Capitol Hills Scout Camp.
1968 – The first Cebu Council Powwow was held at Capitol Hills Scout Camp on April 4-7.
1977 – The 6th National Jamboree was held in three venues, Cebu, Isabela and Davao City. The aim of holding it in three venues was to enable more Scouts to attend. A total of 35,599 Scouts and Scouters participated with 12,599 coming from the Cebu Council.
1978 – The first Regional Trainers’ Conference was held at Capitol Hills Scout Camp.
The selection of the Ten Outstanding Scouts of Cebu Council started.
1983 – Cebu was once again selected as one of the three venues of the National Jamboree. Cebu Council is the only Council outside of Manila which has hosted a National Jamboree thrice.
1986 – Cebu Council registered a total of 138,359 Scouts and Scouters, the highest membership in the whole country.
1987-1996
1990 – The Cebu Council launched the “Tree for Don Sergio”, a tree planting activity of the Cebu Council. It was named in honor of Don Sergio Osmeña Sr., the Governor of Cebu, who initiated a massive tree planting in the Province.
1993 – First Emergency Service Corps was held on May 30, 1993.
1995 – The 10th National Jamboree was held at Lipata, Surigao City. Cebu Council with its more than 500 delegates was declared the Most Impressive Contingent.
1995 – The Golden Jubilee of the Cebu Council. It was culminated by the holding of the Cebu Golden Jubilee Jamborette at Danao City.
1996 – Cebu Council was declared the biggest Council in terms of membership among the 103 local Councils in the country.
1997-2006
1998 – Cebu Council won a 6-foot trophy as overall champion at the Philippine Centennial Scout Jamboree on January 5-11, 1998 at Clark Field, Angeles City, Pampanga with the following citations:

2004 – August 28, cornerstone laying for the new Council Headquarters building along Natalio Bacalso and Tres de Abril Streets.
2005 – In March, the three-storey Cebu Council building was constructed at the cost of P17 million.
2006 – The Cebu Council celebrated its Diamond Jubilee. The celebration culminated with the conduct of the Diamond Jubilee Jamborette at Looc, Malabuyoc Cebu on December 26-30, 2006.
2007 to present
2007 – Conducted the Second Emergency Service Course in Cebu City.
– Revived and reorganized the Catholic Scouting Committee.
– Recognized as one of the Top Ten Councils in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
– The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Incorporated (RAFI) sponsored the conversion of the third floor of our Headquarters into an Audio Visual Room with a total cost of P600,000.
2008 – Awarded by the Cebu City Government as the Outstanding Institution for its valuable support to the city in the field of Scouting and in the development of the city’s youth.
– Hernando O. Streegan was named by the National Office of the BSP as the Outstanding Council Chairman.
– Conducted the 8th Cebu Council Jamborette at Poblacion, Carmen,Cebu.
2011 – For the first time, three delegates from the Cebu Council were chosen in the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines. This is the first time in 22 years since the Search was conducted.
– Established the Professional Development Program for our Professional Staff patterned after the National Training School of the National Office of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
– Conducted the 10th Cebu Council Jamborette at Capitol Hills Scout Camp.
2012 – For the second Year in a row, three delegates from the Cebu Council made it again to the final 10 of the Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
– Conducted the first Green Bar Training Conference December 19-23, 2012 at Bagatayam, Sogod,Cebu
– Proclaimed as the highest in sales performance in the National Supply Service by posting a total sales of P11.6 million.
– Reorganized the editorial board of the Bangaw, our news bulletin, composed of an all Scout-staff to truly reflect the sentiments of our boys as reflected in their contributed articles.
