🕊️ SOLEMN PRAYER FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE MV JUNE ASTER TRAGEDY 🕊️

With hearts filled with sorrow, we gathered in prayer for the victims of the tragic MV June Aster incident, asking the Lord to grant them eternal rest and perpetual light.

The solemn prayer was led by Rev. Fr. John Paul Bangsi, Parish Priest of Barangay Turda, together with the Punong Barangay,Barangay Kagawad,Health workers of Barangay Tara, led by Hon. Ma. Teresa J. Casareno, along with Sangguniang Bayan Members Hon. Sadhwani, Hon. Tejada, Hon. Reyes-Gaw, Hon. Quijano, Hon. Gacayan, and Hon. Badang, Marines Personnel and the dedicated personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard.

May God welcome the souls of those who lost their lives into His eternal embrace and grant comfort, strength, and peace to their families and loved ones.

We also pray for all the rescuers, responders, and everyone who continues to serve during this difficult time. May God guide and protect them.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Nilagdaan na ngayong araw ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. bilang batas ang 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟮𝟯𝟮𝟲 na nagtatakda sa limang (5) taon ang termino ng panunungkulan ng mga Barangay Officials at mga miyembro ng Sangguniang Kabataan.

Sa ilalim ng bagong batas, hanggang dalawang (2) magkakasunod na termino ang maaaring pagsilbihan ng mga Barangay Officials sa parehong posisyon, habang isang (1) termino naman para sa mga Sangguniang Kabataan Officials.

Ang mga kasalukuyang opisyal na saklaw ng dalawang taong extension ay ituturing nang nakapagsilbi ng isang buong limang-taong termino, habang ang mga nasa kanilang huling termino ay hindi na maaaring tumakbo muli sa parehong posisyon.

Dahil dito, ang nakatakdang Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) sa Nobyembre 2 ay hindi na itutuloy, at ang susunod na halalan ay sa ikalawang Lunes ng Nobyembre 2028. Ang bagong election cycle ay bahagi ng transition tungo sa limang-taong termino ng mga Barangay at SK Officials.

Nagpapasalamat ang Liga sa Pangulo sa tiwalang ipinagkaloob sa mga barangay sa pamamagitan ng mas mahabang panahon para makapaglingkod sa ating mga komunidad. Kasabay ng panibagong pagkakataong ito, hinihikayat ng Liga ang lahat ng Barangay Officials na pagbutihin pa ang serbisyo, palakasin ang mga programa, at gawing mas makabuluhan ang bawat araw ng panunungkulan para sa ating mga kabarangay.

Ang dagdad panahon sa paglilingkod ay pagkakataon para makagawa ng higit pa at mas malaking pananagutan para sa bawat barangay.

Nakapaloob sa panukala ang ilang mahahalagang pagbabago kabilang ang pagpapahaba ng termino mula 4 tungo sa 5 taon, pagbabago sa term limits, at paglipat ng susunod na BSKE sa 2028.Mayroon din itong mga probisyon tungkol sa transitory period, SK vacancies, at training at capacity-building ng mga Barangay at SK officials.

with hearts filled with sorrow, we come before You in prayer for the souls of those who lost their lives in the tragic MV June Aster incident.

Lord, in this moment of profound grief, we commend their souls into Your loving and merciful hands. Receive them into the eternal peace of Your Kingdom. Forgive their sins and shortcomings, and let Your perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest forever in the warmth of Your presence, where there is no more pain, suffering, or sorrow.

We remember each life that was lost—each person dearly loved, each family left behind, and each dream that was suddenly taken away. May their memories remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

Gracious God, embrace the grieving families with Your unfailing love. Give them strength when their hearts are heavy, comfort when tears cannot be held back, and courage to face the days ahead. May they find peace in the knowledge that their loved ones are now resting in Your eternal care.

We also pray for all those affected by this tragedy. Grant strength and protection to the rescuers, responders, and everyone who continues to extend help and compassion.
