In celebration of the 125th National Archives Day, the 𝗕𝗧𝗔-𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, in collaboration with the 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 (𝗕𝗟𝗔), through its 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, presents “Usapang Archives", a special talk show highlighting the vital role of archives in preserving history, safeguarding records, and protecting the documentary heritage of the Bangsamoro people.

Earlier Today | 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗖. 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗻-𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗵, President of the Former Members of Parliament Association, visited the Legislative Library and Archives of the Bangsamoro Parliament to turn over her Accomplishment Reports from her tenure as a Member of Parliament to the Library's collection.

The turnover represents a meaningful contribution to the preservation of the BTA Parliament's legislative history, ensuring that these records remain accessible for reference, research, and historical documentation.

During her visit, Atty. Dandamun-Latiph also reaffirmed the Association's commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the documentation and preservation of the Bangsamoro Parliament's legislative heritage.

LOOK | The BTA-Legislative Reference Division, which serves as the Legislative Library and Archives of the Bangsamoro Parliament, marked a significant milestone on September 3, 2026, with the opening of its new office and the official launch of its Library Management System (LMS).

Held at the Hashim Salamat Building, the event brought together parliamentary officials, chiefs and directors of BTA Organic Offices, personnel, guests, and partners in celebrating the Division's continuing efforts to enhance library, archival, and legislative information services in support of the work of the Bangsamoro Parliament.

The occasion was more than the opening of a new office. It marked the strengthening of the Bangsamoro Parliament's Legislative Library and Archives as a vital center for legislative information, research, and records preservation, reinforcing its commitment to providing reliable and accessible information for Members of Parliament, personnel, researchers, and other users.

In his welcome remarks, Engr. Abdulgani L. Manalocon, MBA, JD, Director II of the Legislative Technical Affairs and Information Service (LTAIS), underscored the importance of continuously strengthening the services and resources that support the legislative work of the Parliament.

The program also featured messages of support from parliamentary leaders and officials, including 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐒. 𝐘𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐛, Speaker of the BTA Parliament, represented by his Chief of Staff, 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐁𝐚𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐨𝐮𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐧; 𝗠𝗣 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗢𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗬𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗖. 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗮; 𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗥𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗕. 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗹, Secretary-General; 𝐉𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐀𝐲𝐮𝐛, Director III of the Plenary and Committee Affairs Division; and 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐮 𝐉𝐮𝐧 𝐌. 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚, Director III of the Administrative and General Services Department.

A highlight of the program was the official launch of the LMS, a significant step toward making the Division's library resources more organized, searchable, and accessible.

The ceremonial activation was led by 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐁𝐚𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐨𝐮𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐧, representing 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐒𝐘, 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐏 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐚, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐥, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫. 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧, Chief of LRefD.

With the system officially activated, the LRefD demonstrated how technology can enhance the management and accessibility of library resources. The LMS is designed to help users easily discover available materials while enabling the Division to manage its growing collection more efficiently and effectively.

Following the LMS launch and the formal program, guests proceeded to the third floor of the building for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the formal opening of the new LRefD office.

The new facility provides the LRefD with a dedicated space for delivering library, archival, and legislative reference services while strengthening the preservation and accessibility of the Bangsamoro Parliament's institutional memory.

For the Legislative Reference Division, the occasion was more than the inauguration of a new facility or the launch of a digital system. It was a celebration of progress and a reaffirmation of the essential role that libraries, archives, and information services play in supporting legislation, preserving institutional memory, and strengthening the Parliament's commitment to serving the Bangsamoro people.

The BTA-Legislative Reference Division joins the global archival community in celebrating 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 under the global theme #𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 & 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀.

This theme underscores the vital role of archives in advancing justice, protecting rights, preserving collective memory, and strengthening democratic institutions. More than repositories of records, archives serve as trusted sources of evidence that document decisions, uphold accountability, and preserve the historical and legislative foundations that shape societies.

The Archives of the BTA Parliament reaffirms its commitment to preserving the institutional memory of the Bangsamoro, safeguarding legislative records, promoting transparency and accountability, and ensuring that legislative documentary heritage remains accessible for present and future generations in support of justice, rights, and moral governance.
