Davao City โ The Commission successfully conducted the Mid-Year Assessment of the 2026 Gender and Development (GAD) Accomplishments at Acacia Hotel, Davao City, bringing together representatives from various Bangsamoro Ministries, Offices, and Agencies (BMOAs).
The two-day activity provided a platform to assess the implementation of the 2026 GAD Plans and Budgets, review first- and second-quarter GAD accomplishments, including relevant Women, Peace and Security (WPS) initiatives, and identify implementation gaps, challenges, good practices, and priority actions for the remaining months of the year.
Technical discussions strengthened the participantsโ understanding of the parameters for reviewing GAD Plans and Budgets and GAD Accomplishment Reports, GAD budget charging, the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), and GAD monitoring and evaluation. The sessions emphasized the importance of anchoring GAD interventions on identified gender issues and mandates, supporting them with appropriate evidence, and translating them into measurable, gender-responsive results.
Participating BMOAs also presented their accomplishments and shared their respective implementation experiences, issues, challenges, and good practices. The discussions provided an opportunity for collective learning and helped identify practical ways forward, including accelerating the implementation of remaining GAD programs, activities, and projects, strengthening GFPS capacities, and improving documentation, monitoring, and inter-agency coordination.
The Commission continues to strengthen its partnership with BMOAs in advancing accountable, results-oriented, inclusive, and gender-responsive governance, ensuring that GAD plans and resources contribute to meaningful outcomes for women, girls, and communities across the Bangsamoro.
