📚 Library Tour 2026 🌊🐟

The CASAT Library warmly welcomed our BS Marine Biology and BS Fisheries freshmen through an engaging short library orientation and tour.

The activity introduced students to the library's policies, facilities, learning spaces, collections, and digital resources designed to support their academic journey. Students were also guided on how to access and maximize the library's services for research, study, and lifelong learning.

We look forward to serving and supporting our newest students as they explore, discover, and succeed through the wealth of resources available in the library.

Welcome to the Library, future marine scientists and fisheries professionals!

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳 I AC Batac, CASAT-SC Hold “Founding Fathers” Forum Series 2

by Charie Kaye F. Colar

On April 22, 2026, AC Batac successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter discussion of Founders Museum: Road to Liberty, featuring the topic “Founding Fathers,” in collaboration with the CASAT Student Council (CASAT-SC). The activity was held under the advisory of Mr. Don Dexter J. Garvida and took place at the CASAT Library, headed by Ms. Maybelle R. Perinion, College Librarian II.

The forum was attended by 23 students from Mr. John Rei E. Battan’s history class. This initiative forms part of the America250 campaign and is conducted on a quarterly basis to promote historical awareness and engagement among students.

The program formally opened with welcome remarks by Mr. Garvida, followed by an inspirational message delivered by Prof. Carolyn V. Pascual, CASAT OIC-Dean. Ms. Charie Kaye F. Colar, AC Program Coordinator, then presented the rationale of the activity, highlighting its significance in understanding the contributions of key historical figures.

The academic discussion featured two speakers. Prof. Leslie Kay R. Corpuz, Chief of the Center for Iloko and Amianan Studies (CIAS), presented on Samuel Adams, while Prof. Sherwin Paul Erlou U. Galicinao delivered a discussion on John Adams.

An interactive open forum followed, where students engaged by asking and answering questions related to the topic. Participants were also given AC swags as prizes for their participation.

The program concluded with the awarding of certificates to the speakers, facilitators, and participants, followed by a group photo session and closing remarks by Ms. Maria Cristeta R.Llacuna, ULS and AC Director. Overall, the event marked another successful and meaningful forum in promoting historical learning and dialogue.
