The Child Development Centers of Currimao celebrated Family Day 2026 Cum Orientation on Values and Operations, and Parent Effectiveness Seminar on September 28, 2026.

The activity was led by Municipal Mayor Edward T. Quilala and Vice Mayor Judith Quilala, together with the Municipal Officials and MSWDO Nelia Dadulla.

Family Day 2026 is more than just a celebration. It is an opportunity to strengthen family relationships, promote positive parenting, and build stronger partnerships between parents, Child Development Workers, and the community.

Through the Values and Operations Orientation and Parent Effectiveness Seminar, parents gain knowledge and skills that can help them become more effective and responsible partners in their children’s growth and development.

The team-building activity also promotes unity, cooperation, friendship, and teamwork among the 16 Child Development Centers. Divided into the Orange, Pink, White, and Red Teams, everyone was reminded that despite being in different centers, we share one important goal—to work together for the welfare, protection, and holistic development of every child in Currimao. ❤️🤝

A heartfelt thank you also to our Guest of Honor and Speaker, Ms. Angelica Barut, Project Development Officer II Municipal Link for sharing her valuable time, knowledge, and inspiring message with our parents and Child Development Workers.

A heartfelt thank you to our LGU Currimao under the leadership of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Edward T. Quilala, to our Sangguniang Bayan Member Council headed by Vice Mayor Judith Quilala and our very own MSWDO Nelia Dadulla, for generously sharing your blessings and support with us.

Because of your kindness and encouragement, we proudly garnered 4th Princess among the 21 Municipalities and 2 Cities of the entire Province of Ilocos Norte during the Family Day Celebration of the Child Development Workers held in Batac City yesterday, September 25, 2026.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Melvin De Mateo, Ms. Lenie Canonizado & Brgy Captain of Bimmanga Marsha Taclibon for generously giving additional financial support for our canvassing needs. Your support truly means a lot to us.

On August 31,2026, successfully completed the relief distribution to four hundred (400) families affected by flooding in the 19 barangays of LGU Currimao in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) with the assistance of the uniformed personnel. The activity was carried out under the leadership of our Municipal Mayor Hon. Edward T. Quilala,whose guidance and support ensured the timely provision of assistance to the affected constituents. With sincere gratitude to the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte(PGIN) under Gov. Cecilia Araneta-Marcos through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) for the augmentation of the two hundred (200) food packs that supported the relief operation.

May this simple act of service remind us the spirit of heroism lives on through compassion,unity and genuine concern to others.

In line with the annual celebration of the Nutrition Month, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) initiated by the Child Development Workers headed by Ms. Nelia A Dadulla,RSW,MSSW in coordination with the LGU Currimao through the leadership of our LCE Hon. Edward T. Quilala and SBM Officials headed by VM Judith B. Quilala, also in partnership with the Municipal Health Office (MHO), Municipal Nutrition Affairs Office (MNAO) parents and Barangay Officials, successfully conducted the A1 Child Modelling and Coloring Contest today July 29,2026 held at Mega Sports Complex Currmao Ilocos Norte.
The activity aimed to promote proper nutrition, healthy child development, and increase public awareness on the importance of raising healthy, active, and well-nourished children.

The contest gathered children from the 23 barangays of Currimao who qualified based on the prescribed health and nutrition standards. The participants showcased their confidence, charm, and healthy appearance while wearing creative made up of recycled materials attire that reflected the Nutrition Month theme. Parents and guardians actively supported the participants throughout the preparation and conduct of the event.

The competition included an introduction, modelling presentation, and a short question-and-answer portion for parents or guardians focusing on proper nutrition, child care, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices. A panel of judges evaluated the contestants based on nutritional status, stage presence, confidence, personality, grooming, and overall performance in accordance with the contest guidelines.

The event highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition, regular health monitoring, and positive parenting in ensuring the holistic development of children. It also encouraged families to adopt healthy eating habits and actively participate in community nutrition programs.

The program concluded with the awarding of certificates, medals, and prizes to the winners and all participating children. Overall, the A1 Child Modelling Contest was successfully conducted and served as an effective platform to celebrate Nutrition Month while promoting awareness of proper nutrition and recognizing children who exemplify healthy growth and development. The activity strengthened collaboration among families, barangay officials, and partner agencies in supporting the health and well-being of every child in the community.
