The City Engineer’s Office of General Santos City continued its field operations with sustained road rehabilitation and improvement works, drainage and canal maintenance, roadside vegetation control, and streetlight repairs across several barangays.

These on-site efforts helped enhance road accessibility, improve drainage efficiency, ensure dependable street lighting, and maintain safer and more functional public spaces for the residents of General Santos City.

The City Engineer’s Office of General Santos City sustained its field operations with ongoing road rehabilitation and improvement works, drainage and canal maintenance, roadside vegetation control, and streetlight repairs across several barangays.

The City Engineer’s Office of General Santos City continued its field operations with ongoing road rehabilitation and improvement works, drainage and canal maintenance, and vegetation control, streetlight repairs..

These on-site accomplishments contributed to improving road accessibility, strengthening drainage systems, maintaining reliable street lighting, and supporting the development of public spaces, helping ensure safer and more functional communities for the residents of General Santos City.

1. Road Rehabilitation and Improvement

-Rehabilitation, widening, patching, blading, and compaction of unpaved roads in several barangays including Olympog, Calumpang, Tinagacan, and Ligaya.

-Road works covered multiple puroks such as Prk. 3 Olympog, Purok Balakayo, Purok Placida, and several puroks in Tinagacan to improve accessibility and mobility for residents.

2. Drainage and Flood Control Works

-Construction of drainage canals and open-line canal at Darimco, Brgy. Dadiangas West.

-Delivery of pipe culverts for installation of a cross drainage line in Purok 3, Brgy. Olympog.

-Declogging and canal clearing activities conducted in Lagao (Balite St., Pioneer Village), City Heights (Las Villas) to restore water flow and reduce flooding risks.

3. Road Safety and Environmental Maintenance

-Vegetation control operations along NGCP Road, Brgy. Mabuhay to improve roadside visibility and safety.

-Excavation and repair investigation along Lagao–Conel Road due to pavement damage from scouring.

4. Electrical and Street Lighting Maintenance

-Troubleshooting of electrical wiring and streetlights at National Highway, Brgy. Labangal.

-Replacement of busted lights and installation of breakers and wiring to energize streetlights at Marcos Avenue, Brgy. Apopong.

March 1–6, 2026 | 📢 Public Service Update
The City Engineer’s Office of General Santos City continued its field operations with ongoing road rehabilitation, drainage and flood control improvements, vegetation clearing, streetlight maintenance, and support works for public facilities across several barangays.
These actual on-site accomplishments helped improve road accessibility, strengthen drainage systems, maintain reliable street lighting, and support safer and more functional public spaces for the community.

✔ Road Works & Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation, patching, blading, and compaction of unpaved roads were conducted in Barangays Olympog, Tinagacan, and Calumpang. Re-blocking of damaged concrete pavement at Conel Road also continued, along with roadworks in Purok 3, Barangay Olympog.

✔ Drainage & Canal Works
Drainage improvement activities included declogging, desilting, repair, and construction of drainage canals in Barangays Dadiangas West, Lagao, Bula, and Dadiangas South. Manual canal ditching and excavation were also carried out to improve water flow and reduce flooding in several areas.

✔ River re-channeling
River re-channeling efforts were conducted and continued at Purok Lower Puting Bato to improve water flow and mitigate flooding risks.

✔ Vegetation Control & Clearing Operations
Vegetation clearing and control were performed along Arradaza Street, Salinda Street, and Laurel Street to maintain road visibility and support drainage efficiency.

✔ Public Facility & School Support Works
Maintenance teams carried out backfilling works at Kolehiyo ng Heneral Santos and Romana Acharon Elementary School, and manual demolition of planter boxes at Dadiangas South Central Elementary School to preserve school landmarks and improve access.

✔ Streetlight Maintenance
Repair of streetlights was conducted in several locations including Recto–Manansala (Barangay Dadiangas North), Purok Bactol (Barangay Mabuhay), and multiple areas in Barangay Olympog such as Purok 2, Purok 3, and Purok Kidam.

February 21–27, 2026 | 📢 Public Service Update

The City Engineer’s Office of General Santos City sustained its field operations with continuous road rehabilitation, electrical maintenance, facility preparation, and public safety support across several barangays.

These actual on-site accomplishments directly strengthened road accessibility, ensured functional public facilities, improved street lighting reliability, and enhanced overall community safety.

🏗️ Site Preparation (Kolehiyo Heneral)
📍 Acharon Sports Complex

As part of the preparation for the initial operations of Kolehiyo Heneral, the Office completed:

• Cleaning and clearing of designated classrooms
• Selective demolition for additional door installation
• Installation and finishing of doors and jambs
• Masonry works including stoppers, planter repairs, and flagpole platform improvement
• Concrete works and repainting of the flagpole structure
• Backfilling and soil compaction, including frontage areas
• Electrical wiring and lighting installation in classrooms, restrooms, and lobby
• Rehabilitation of the power room
• Thorough cleaning of comfort rooms
• Installation of flagpole rope

💡 Electrical Maintenance & Streetlighting
February 23 & 25

To promote safer roads and public spaces, electrical teams accomplished:

• Replacement of busted streetlights at Barangay Ligaya (Puroks 2, 4, 6, 7) and Malok Area, Barangay Labangal
• Rewiring and installation of lighting systems at the Sports Complex
• Rescue and repair of damaged wiring at Plaza Heneral Santos

🛣️ Road Repair, Rehabilitation & Asphalt Works

In support of mobility and infrastructure durability, the following were completed:

• Road repair at Park Biscayda, Barangay Olympog and Park Malakas, Barangay San Isidro
• Road rehabilitation at Purok Cahilsot, Barangay Calumpang
• Patching, blading, and compaction of unpaved road at Purok Biscayda, Barangay Olympog
• Asphalt patching at Silway Bridge (Barangay West), Santiago Blvd. & Cagampang St. (Barangay Bula), and G. Mesa St. (Barangay Lagao)
