Smart Tools, Smarter Teaching: AI Takes Center Stage in SLAC
September 23, 2026-Teachers gathered for a meaningful School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) session focused on the effective use of AI tools in education. Insightful discussions and demonstrations on Microsoft Copilot, NotebookLM, and Gemini were shared by Maโam Mylie Elis and Mae Liza Albino, highlighting how these tools can transform classroom preparation and instructional delivery.
The presenters emphasized that AI-powered platforms help teachers reduce time spent on routine tasks, streamline lesson planning, generate learning materials, and support the development of inclusive activities tailored to the needs of learners, particularly in Special Needs Education (SNED). Participants explored practical ways to use AI responsibly to enhance teaching efficiency while maintaining quality learning experiences.
School Head Maโam Divina Calubandi lauded the initiative and encouraged teachers to embrace innovation as a means of improving educational outcomes.
โTechnology is not here to replace teachers; it is here to empower them to become more effective, creative, and responsive to the needs of every learner.โ
She further emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in today's rapidly evolving educational landscape.
