Second week of May is observed as Safe Motherhood Week in the Philippines, established by Presidential Proclamation No. 200 to promote maternal health, nutrition, and safe delivery. These focuses on reducing maternal and neonatal mortality by ensuring access to quality health services.

A. Prenatal and postnatal care:
Providing orientation and consultation during prenatal visits.

B. Facility-Based Delivery: Encouraging mothers to give birth in health facilities to ensure care from skilled professionals.

C. Promoting the "Unang Yakap" (Essential Newborn Care/First Embrace) protocol, exclusive breastfeeding, and birth spacing.

D.Teenage Pregnancy Awareness: Addressing the rising risks among young, teenage mothers.

E. Service Access: Highlighting PhilHealth benefits for maternity care and ensuring access to emergency obstetric care

Cebu Provincial Hospital - Danao City celebrates the safe motherhood week by empowering healthcare professionals with knowledge and skills in Essential newborn Maternal care and Lactation Management Training to educate and support successful breastfeeding.

From his very first breath, Baby Amari has been surrounded by love and care at Cebu Provincial Hospital Danao. 💙

For the past four months, the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff have become his family guiding him through every milestone, from his earliest days to his growing strength each month.
