PULIS, NAGPAKITA NG KATAPANGAN SA PAG-RESCUE SA DRIVER MULA SA NASUSUNOG NA KOTSE
Isang mabilis at maayos na pagresponde ng mga kapulisan ang nagligtas sa buhay ng isang driver matapos masangkot sa banggaan ng dump truck at pribadong sasakyan na agad na nagdulot ng sunog, bandang 2:00 AM noong April 12, 2026 sa Flyover Maguikay, MC Briones Street, Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City.
Ayon sa ulat, agad na rumesponde ang mga pulis na naka-duty sa lugar matapos mapansin ang insidente. Kaagad silang humingi ng tulong sa mga bumbero at medical responders habang mabilis na kumikilos para matulungan ang mga apektado.
Sa gitna ng nagliliyab na sasakyan, matagumpay na nailabas ni Pat Glenn C. Rosales, kasama ang ilang concerned bystanders, ang na-trap na driver ilang sandali bago tuluyang lumakas ang apoy. Kasabay nito, inasikaso naman ni Pat Warren F. Cloma ang pag-secure sa lugar at pag-aayos ng daloy ng trapiko upang maiwasan ang dagdag na aksidente.
Mabilis ding dumating ang mga fire at rescue units na rumesponde sa sunog at tuluyang naapula ang apoy. Habang nagbigay naman ng assistance ang ating kapulisan para sa crowd control at traffic management hanggang sa maging maayos at ligtas ang sitwasyon.
Ang mga sangkot sa insidente ay nabigyan ng agarang tulong, habang ang driver ng dump truck ay dinala sa malapit na ospital. Ang kaso ay isinangguni na sa Traffic Enforcement Unit para sa mas malalim na imbestigasyon.
Ayon kay PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., “Ipinapakita lamang nito ang mabilis na aksyon ng ating mga pulis. Saludo ako sa kanilang katapangan at malasakit sa gitna ng panganib.”
Nagpaalala rin ang PNP sa publiko na magdoble-ingat ngayong panahon ng tag-init kung kailan mas mataas ang risk ng aksidente at sunog, lalo na sa mga kalsada at sasakyan na maaaring maapektuhan ng init at pagod sa biyahe.

COUPLE ARRESTED IN ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUG STING, ₱6.8-M SHABU SEIZED IN MAGUINDANAO
Two high-value individuals were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted late Monday afternoon, April 13, in Purok Sentro, Barangay Limbo, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.
Authorities identified the suspects as “Gemma,” 28, and her husband, 33— residents of the said area. The operation led to the confiscation of approximately one kilogram of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱6.8 million, along with a firearm, ammunition, and marked money.
The coordinated operation involved local police units, specialized forces, and partner agencies, carried out under proper pre-operational procedures. The suspects were immediately taken into custody and are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for the successful arrest, emphasizing the importance of sustained anti-drug efforts.
“We will not allow these activities to thrive in our communities. This operation shows that our personnel on the ground are focused and committed to their mission,” PGEN Nartatez said.
He added, “We will continue to intensify our operations and work closely with partner agencies to ensure that those involved are held accountable. Hindi tayo titigil hangga’t hindi napapanatiling ligtas ang ating mga komunidad.”
The operation is part of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, and supports the broader peace and order efforts of the administration of Ferdinand R Marcos Jr..

EIGHT-DAY SAFER CITIES OPS LOG 75,492 VIOLATIONS ACROSS METRO MANILA
The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported continued enforcement of local ordinances across Metro Manila as part of the Safer Cities initiative under the Safer Metro Manila Plan, with authorities noting signs of gradual public adjustment amid sustained police visibility operations from April 6 to 13, 2026.
For the full period, a total of 75,492 violators were recorded, with drinking in public consistently emerging as the top violation, followed by roaming without shirts, curfew violations involving minors, and karaoke use beyond allowed hours—four ordinances that police continue to emphasize in community enforcement.
For April 13 alone, 7,235 violators were recorded. The Southern Police District logged 1,703, followed by the Northern Police District with 1,619, Eastern Police District with 995, Quezon City Police District with 1,568, and Manila Police District with 1,350.
Data showed that drinking in public remained the leading violation at 2,121 cases for the day. This was followed by roaming without shirts at 176 cases, curfew violations involving minors at 66, and karaoke use beyond allowed hours at 356, while other ordinance violations accounted for 4,516 cases.
Most cases were resolved on-site, with 4,210 individuals warned and released, 2,884 fined, and 141 subjected to charges depending on the nature of the violation.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said the continuing figures show both enforcement presence and public response. “Nakikita natin na mas nagiging aware na ang publiko. Pero tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang ating paalala, sundin lang ito para iwas abala at para sa safety ng lahat,” he said.
He added that discipline in public spaces remains a shared responsibility. “Community effort ito. Kapag sumusunod ang lahat, mas maayos at mas ligtas ang mga lansangan natin,” PGEN Nartatez added.
The campaign is being carried out in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, supporting the broader peace and order direction of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., as authorities continue to reinforce everyday discipline in public spaces.

The Cebu Police Provincial Office continues to intensify its anti-criminality efforts, yielding significant results in its week-long operations from March 30 to April 5, 2026, highlighting its strong commitment to maintaining peace, order, and public safety across the province. These accomplishments were achieved under the leadership of PCOL ABUBAKAR UDANG MANGELEN JR.
In the campaign against illegal drugs, a total of 52 individuals were arrested in 38 operations, leading to the confiscation of approximately 103.59 grams of shabu and 30.20 grams of dried ma*****na leaves, along with 400 ma*****na stalks. These illegal drugs have a combined Standard Drug Price of ₱788,054.00, with 86 cases filed in court demonstrating CPPO’s intensified and sustained operations against illegal drug activities.
In the campaign against wanted persons, 29 warrants of arrest were served through 26 operations, resulting in the arrest of 25 individuals, including 2 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and 25 Other Wanted Persons (OWPs) a clear manifestation of the office’s relentless pursuit of fugitives.
Meanwhile, efforts against illegal possession of fi****ms resulted in 10 operations, the arrest of 9 individuals, and the confiscation of 9 fi****ms, with 9 cases filed. One OPLAN Katok operation was also conducted to encourage the voluntary surrender of loose fi****ms.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 22 individuals were arrested in 13 operations, with ₱4,773.00 confiscated and 14 cases filed, further reinforcing CPPO’s drive against unlawful activities.
Moreover, the enforcement of local ordinances remained a key priority, with 1,438 operations conducted, leading to 2,040 violators fined and generating ₱1,039,550.00 in penalties, underscoring the intensified efforts to instill discipline and order in communities.
These accomplishments reflect the unwavering dedication of CPPO personnel in combating criminality and enforcing the law, ensuring that communities across Cebu Province remain safe, orderly, and secure.

Swift and Relentless Hot Pursuit Operation Leads to Arrest of One Suspect in Viral Robbery Incident in Talisay City, Cebu
The Cebu Police Provincial Office arrested one of the suspects involved in a robbery incident that went viral on social media, following a swift and relentless hot pursuit operation conducted by Talisay City Police Station and responding units in the early hours of April 12, 2026.
The incident occurred at around 4:16 AM of April 11, 2026 along Dawis Road, Barangay San Roque, Talisay City, Cebu, involving two victims a Barangay Health Worker and a minor resident of the area who were allegedly threatened and injured during the commission of the crime.
Initial investigation revealed that two unidentified suspects, riding a motorcycle, allegedly committed Robbery with Intimidation. Through the immediate response of police personnel and the utilization of CCTV footage from the area, one of the suspects was positively identified.
At around 5:00 AM of the same day, authorities received the report and immediately launched a follow-up investigation. A continuous, relentless, and non-stop hot pursuit operation was then conducted, which led to the arrest of one of the suspects at around 9:50 PM of April 12, 2026 at Dawis Road, Barangay San Roque, Talisay City, Cebu.
The victims positively identified the arrested suspect as the back rider who allegedly stabbed them using an ice pick during the robbery incident.
Meanwhile, the driver of the motorcycle remains at large, and follow-up hot pursuit operations are still ongoing to ensure his immediate apprehension.
Cebu Police Provincial Director PCOL ABUBAKAR UDANG MANGELEN JR commended the operating units for their swift action and unwavering dedication in solving the case. “The successful arrest of one of the suspects is a result of our intensified and coordinated efforts on the ground. We assure the public that we will continue the pursuit operations until all responsible individuals are accounted for and brought before the bar of justice,” PCOL Mangelen said.
Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro likewise lauded the police for their quick and decisive action, emphasizing the importance of strong law enforcement response in maintaining peace and order. “I commend the Cebu Police for their swift and relentless action in addressing this incident. Their immediate response and successful arrest demonstrate their firm commitment to protecting the public and ensuring that justice is served without delay,” the Governor stated.
The Cebu Police Provincial Office assures the public that all necessary measures are being undertaken to locate and arrest the remaining suspect, while further details of the case will be released as the investigation progresses.
