Bridging Communities: A Multi-Sectoral Initiative for Health and Wellness in Olango Island 🌿💙

Two meaningful days of service, collaboration, and community engagement unfolded through “Bridging Communities: A Multi-Sectoral Initiative for Health and Wellness in Olango Island.” 🤝🌊

The activity brought together the Gender and Development (GAD) Offices, Extension Offices, Clinic Offices, and GRASSO, working hand in hand with faculty, staff, and community partners to promote health, wellness, empowerment, and stronger community connections.

Throughout the two-day outreach, the participating offices shared their expertise, services, and resources to respond to the needs of the community. More than an outreach activity, it became an avenue for building partnerships, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful opportunities for community members to access support and promote their overall well-being.

This initiative reflects the commitment of the University to extend its services beyond the campus and create positive, sustainable impact in the communities it serves.

🌱 TABANG SA KINAIYAHAN: VERTICAL GARDENING AND MANGROVE CLEAN-UP PARA SA TAWSAN 🌱

Cebu Technological University–Danao Campus continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental sustainability and community empowerment through the Tabang sa Kinaiyahan: Vertical Gardening and Mangrove Clean-up para sa Tawsan Extension Project.

The project was led by Engr. Delfa G. Castilla, together with the project proponents Dr. Ryan Mahilum, Dr. Romel Mutya, and Engr. Jayson Bayogo, in partnership with the dedicated beneficiaries from the Tawsan Fisherman Association. 🤝🌿

Through this initiative, the team shared knowledge and practical skills on vertical gardening, sustainable planting practices, the use of recycled materials, and mangrove conservation. The project aims to promote environmental awareness while empowering the beneficiaries with skills that can contribute to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable community. 🌱♻️🌊

This meaningful collaboration demonstrates that when the University and the community work together, small actions can create a lasting impact. 💚

The posting of CTU’s VMGOs is more than simply displaying words on a wall—it represents the University’s shared direction, identity, and commitment to excellence. Strategically placed in offices where faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders can see them, the VMGOs serve as a constant reminder of what CTU aspires to become, what it stands for, and the goals it continues to pursue in providing quality and transformative education.

Theme: GAD Advocacy: Wellness, Performance Review, and Strategic Alignment

Day 2 of the Enhancement Program focused on promoting gender-responsive wellness, organizational excellence, and strategic alignment. The session emphasized the importance of fostering a healthy, inclusive, and productive workplace where every individual can thrive.

A special highlight of the day was Session IV: GAD Advocacy – Wellness Strategies for Men and Women, delivered by Dr. Luzlin Elcullada. Her insightful discussion provided practical wellness strategies that support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of both men and women. She also underscored the value of self-care, work-life balance, and gender-responsive practices in building a resilient, empowered workforce.

🌟 CTU Danao Commences Three-Day Personnel Enhancement Seminar 2026 🌟

Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus officially kicked off its Personnel Enhancement Seminar 2026 on July 1, 2026, at Solea Mactan Resort, marking the beginning of a three-day institutional development program that brings together both teaching and non-teaching personnel.

Guided by the theme "Wellness, Excellence, Digital Transformation, and Performance Review," the seminar aims to strengthen the University's commitment to continuous professional growth, organizational excellence, and innovation in delivering quality service.

The first day set an inspiring tone as participants engaged in meaningful discussions and activities focused on fostering employee wellness, embracing digital transformation, enhancing institutional performance, and cultivating a culture of excellence.

📢 COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (COE) INTERNSHIP ORIENTATION AND SAFE SPACES ACT SEMINAR 2026

The College of Engineering (COE) successfully conducted the Internship Orientation and Safe Spaces Act Seminar with the theme “Navigating Safe, Ethical, and Sustainable Workspaces” on June 3, 2026, at the Student Activity Center.

The program formally commenced with an inspiring Opening Remarks delivered by Engr. Tomash*ta P. Arenas, Dean of the College of Engineering, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, respect, and responsibility as students embark on their internship journey.

This was followed by the Statement of Purpose presented by Dr. Marlon D. Mata, Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department, who highlighted the objectives of the seminar and the significance of creating safe and inclusive workplaces.

The participants gained valuable insights from the resource speaker, Engr. Delfa G. Castilla, who discussed the provisions of the Safe Spaces Act and its role in fostering ethical and sustainable work environments.

To ensure active participation and mutual respect throughout the event, the Rules of Engagement were presented by Engr. Donald R. Lalican, Chairman of the Industrial Engineering Department.

The seminar concluded with an engaging Question-and-Answer Session, providing students the opportunity to clarify concerns and deepen their understanding of workplace ethics, safety, and professionalism.
