In relation to Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 2 issued by PAGASA at 5:00 PM on November 2, 2025, Tropical Storm โTINOโ (Kalmaegi) has intensified into a Severe Tropical Storm while over the Philippine Sea. The center of Severe Tropical Storm โTINOโ was estimated, based on all available data, at 805 km east of Eastern Visayas (11.4ยฐN, 133.1ยฐE). It has maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 115 km/h, a central pressure of 990 hPa, and is moving westward at 30 km/h. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is already in effect over Siargao Island, including this municipality.
In relation also to the advisory of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council dated November 2, 2025, re: CANCELLATION / SUSPENSION OF WORK AND CLASSES FOR TC โTINOโ, classes at all levels, both public and private, and work in both government and private offices across this municipality are hereby suspended starting November 3, 2025 (Monday) and shall remain in effect until weather conditions improve and it is deemed safe for all. This also includes the suspension of school activities, tourism activities, and all sea travel.
However, to ensure the continuity of essential government functions despite the declaration of work suspension, agencies responsible for basic, essential, emergency, and health services, preparedness, and response duties must continue to be operational.
All concerned are reminded to uphold the principles of proactivity, coordination, and safety in all disaster preparedness activities. Stay alert and coordinate with local authorities.

Following the directive of Mayor Elizabeth T. Matugas, Local Chief Executive and Chairperson of the MDRRMC, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Dapa convened at 1:30 PM today at the Conference Room, 2nd Floor, New Municipal Hall, to ensure the municipalityโs readiness for the possible effects of Tropical Storm โTINOโ (Kalmaegi).
The meeting focused on the activation of preparedness and response measures, including close coordination with Barangay DRRMCs, monitoring of weather updates, resource inventory, and the readiness of evacuation centersโespecially in flood-prone, landslide-prone, and coastal areas.
All barangays were advised to be on heightened alert status and to implement precautionary actions as necessary.
Residents are reminded to stay informed through official advisories and to cooperate with authorities should pre-emptive evacuation be required.

Earlier today, Mayor Elizabeth T. Matugas led the Ceremonial Check Turnover amounting to โฑ100,000 for Sealand SLPA, held at the Mayorโs Office, Municipal Hall, Barangay Union, Dapa, Siargao Island.
The check was awarded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Office as part of the Product Diversification and Development Grant (PDDG) under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), recognizing Sealand SLPA as one of the Best Performing SLPAs for the 2023 Regular Project.

The Local Government Unit of Dapa officially received the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)โSurigao del Norte during the CBMS Data Turnover Ceremony held at the Philippine Gateway Hotel, Surigao City.
Engr. Alfie A. Zabala, Municipal Planning and Development Officer and Data Protection Officer, and Mrs. Bernadette S. Porpayas, Human Resource Management Officer and Designated Statistician, received the CBMS data on behalf of the Municipal Government of Dapa.
The event was also attended by representatives from various local government units across Surigao del Norte, highlighting the provinceโs collective commitment to evidence-based planning and data-driven local governance.
The CBMS data will serve as an important tool for planning and enhancing programs and services for the people of Dapa.
