Meet the 73rd addition to our list of Malagos Birds in the Wild.
Philippine Pitta (πΈππ¦π‘βπππππ‘π‘π πππ¦π‘βπππππ π‘ππ) is a plump, short-tailed, long-legged terrestrial bird with a red belly, a black throat, a blue chest band, and a ruddy-colored head. It is endemic to the Philippines and is known for its beautiful colors, doesn't it remind you of our Philippine flag? π΅π These type of birds, singles or pairs inhabit forest, degraded patches, and bamboo thickets in lowlands and hills.
We now have a total of 73 recorded species of wild birds in the resort. Be part of this exciting discovery by joining our birdwatching activity every first Saturdays of the month. See you around! π

Meet Sili-Man, Tisoy the Carabao, and Tatay Emong. ππΆ
Tatay Emong along with Tisoy and Sili-man plows the land to prepare the soil for planting. After plowing, seeds are planted and we wait patiently for the chilis to grow. Harvested chilis are brought to our kitchen and processed as chili oil and chili flakes, which are best paired with our Malagos Pizza. So what are you waiting for? Grab a bottle of our homemade chillies and let us know how you like it!

Freshly harvested lettuce for today! π±
Malagos Garden Resort believes in the importance of knowing where your food comes from. This is why we grow our lettuce in our own hydrophonics garden tended by π΄π‘π Myrna. π΄π‘π Myrna has been with us for fifteen (15) years already. She started on 2007 and has always been diligent in making sure we have abundant harvests for you to enjoy. If you happen to pass by our gardens, be sure to send some love to one of the pillars of Malagos' farm to table initiative. A small "hi" goes a long way. Lettuce, anyone? π₯°
Malagos Garden Resort released a rehabilitated Philippine Hawk-Cuckoo (π―ππππππππππ ππππππππππ), which was rescued by students from Brgy. Gumalang Baguio District. This wild bird is one of the first identified species in the resort. We hope this release will raise awareness and encourage more people to care for our wild birds. Join us in our efforts to preserve and conserve these wildlife by planting one native tree after another π
Ever wondered how a mother bird care for their young?
During an early Birdwatching session in Malagos, we were lucky enough to see a Pacific Swallow (π»πππ’πππ π‘πβππ‘πππ) feeding her youngs and cleaning her nest. What an exhilarating experience to be reminded that even in the wild, a mother's love is unparalleled.
Here's to celebrate all mothers out there. Happy mother's day from the Malagos Green Club! π
