Despite the nation's continuous effort to protect women, there remains objectification. A government official, who claims to be serving the people, made remarks to an Australian and Filipino actress, Anne Curtis-Smith. The government official, B**g Suntay, particularly said, "Ang ganda ganda pala niya. You know, may desire sa loob ng katawan ko na nang-init talaga. Na-imagine ko na lang kung anong pwedeng mangyari, pero syempre hanggang imagination na lang 'yun."

No matter what kind of cover or apology this man may have done or will be doing, it violates the Magna Carta of Women and disrespects the living and rights of Anne-Curtis Smith. The remark goes beyond "for those only offended", as stated by B**g Suntay in his 'apology'. It offends all women and their space from discrimination.

Anne Curtis-Smith responds to his 'apology' by saying, "You’ve become the poster boy of something much bigger: a culture that still thinks it’s acceptable to talk about women this way. Worse, one that tolerates it from our leaders.”

This Women’s Month, we celebrate the breathtaking strength of women who carry the weight of the world with grace every single day. Every woman is a masterpiece of intellect, ambition, and heart. She is a force of nature whose value is rooted in her character and her contributions, far beyond any physical criteria or hollow objectification.

This month, we continue to honor the quiet courage in their kindness and strong will, recognizing that women are not trophies to be admired but trailblazers to be respected.

May we continue to build a world where every woman is seen for the depth of her soul and the power of her mind, standing tall in her truth and unshakable in her worth.

We humbly ask for your support for our fellow SPCian, 𝗣𝗮𝗻̃𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗻, 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗻̃𝗲𝘁𝗲, an 18-year-old BSN 1-O student who is currently 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 and is under outpatient care.

Kris has been advised to undergo a T12 replacement surgery at SPMC, where the surgical procedure itself is free. However, the required surgical materials are not provided by the hospital since these are not in stock due to the rarity of her case. The needed materials must be purchased from a specific medical supplier endorsed by her doctor.

At present, the supplier requires full cash payment and does not offer discounts, down payment, installment options, or accept government cash assistance or medical certificates at this time.

Although Kris can still manage her condition for now, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲, and there is a 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 if the surgery is delayed. Any amount—big or small—will greatly help in securing the needed surgical materials and supporting her path to recovery.
