We proudly recognize Dr. Beryl D. Encabo for her outstanding achievement of being selected for poster presentation at the prestigious 52nd Annual Meeting of the Korean Cancer Association (KCA 2026), to be held on June 25–26, 2026 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, Korea.

Her case report entitled, “Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression from Chronic Active Hepatitis B-related Hepatocellular Carcinoma with Left Iliac Bone Involvement in a 33-year-old Male,” reflects passion, perseverance, and commitment in advancing medical knowledge beyond borders.

For the month of March, the DDH IM Department conducted a series of academic and departmental activities, including cardiology- focused lectures, special lectures in neurology as well as a grand rounds and morbidity and mortality audit to strengthen core clinical knowledge and competence, foster excellence in patient care, and improve residents’ communication and presentation skills.

It was culminated by a lay forum on Menopause in celebration of National Women’s month with our partners from the St Jude Parish community and the DDH Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. “If you can teach it simply, you understand it well”. A estimated 40 participants received information on the medical comorbidities in menopause and their management.

The DDH IM congratulates Dr. David Christian Layug for yet again bringing home exemplary excellence. He achieved second place in the recently concluded 2025 Philippine College of Physician- Southern Mindanao Chapter Research Competition held last November 29, 2025 in San Pedro Hospital.
